Chicago Mayor Vows to 'Take Action' Against Defiant Churches That Continue to Hold Services Despite Lockdown Orders

Sometimes politicians need to learn to shut up. This is not the first controversy she has stepped in. She might be better received if she was not so often a hypocrite.

Lightfoot was criticized for her actions after previously stating in one of her public service announcements that “getting your roots done is not essential and had a statewide stay-at-home order that shuttered salons and other nonessential businesses due to the coronavirus pandemic. ” Then her stylist posted photos with the mayor on Facebook, thanking her for her hard work and saying she had the “pleasure of giving Mayor Lightfoot a hair trim.”

The mayor in a tone deaf moment , in defense of her haircut during a press conference, “I’m the public face of this city. I’m on national media and I’m out in the public eye.”

That being said, I think each person needs to decide if they are in a position where if they got sick, they would be alright.

Personally I think we should all go back to work, but activities involving groups, for now, are not advisable. For me, Church, theme parks, concerts, clubs and the like, carry unacceptable risk at this time.

Some communities where no one has the virus, it might be fine to meet at church.

Sneeze, not cough... but yuck!!
