I had a great time today with our oldest daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. They invited me to go with them to a cowboy show in Dallas. I didn't know they held this yearly, not even sure how many years it's been going on. It's centered around the old cowboy town called YNOT, they re-enacted scenes from various western movies. The scenery included a street town, church, corral, and cemetery. It began with a prayer, a recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance, and then the singing of the Nation Anthem. About half-way through the program they stop everything, then call all the veterans up front to be recognized, even passing the mic to each one to let them give their name, branch of service, and years served. They then recognized the oldest and youngest veteran present as well as the one who traveled the farthest to attend (Portland, OR was the winner). The most moving part was the tribute to some who served together and were reunited today. They also had a "horse race" for all the kids who were given hand-made wooden horses, the kids got to keep them and take them home afterwards. All of this was free of charge, no parking fee, and included all the free hotdogs and drinks you wanted. Of course you could give a donation which I gladly did.

Of course it was amateur acting but that was what made it fun.

My family and I was there as well, great show for the kids and fun for all. The people at Ynot done a great job. My little girl(5) keeps saying she wants to go again.
