Key word there is saying. Trump did none of this as POTUS when he had the chance. In fact, he made the deep state worse. Looking at DeSantis' history in Florida gives a good idea that he would actually do some of the things he is proposing.

I'm not sure about the other branches, but promotions in the Army from the paygrades E-1 - E-4 are decided at the company level, based upon the recommendations of the First Sergeant. Those promoted to E-5 and E-6 are done at the Battalion level by a promotion board comprising the Sergeant Major and the First Sergeants. The candidates appear before the board, which asks them questions to test their technical and tactical proficiency. To qualify to appear before the board, they had to have at least the minimum promotion points based on military and civilian education, PT score, weapons qualification, and more.
E-7 - E-9 put together a promotion packet with a DA photo of themselves that goes to a board of Sergeant Majors (E-9). There's a board for each career management field.
If people in the Space Force are being denied promotions because their home of record is Florida, a general is in charge of promoting all enlisted personnel, then I can see why their promotion system is all jacked up. Generals promote nobody in the Army. Hell, officers in all branches of the armed forces are promoted by Congress.

Whether you like DeSantis more or less than Trump, the difference in how he challenges Trump on issues is far superior than the typical name calling and insults that Trump resorts to. Throw in good policy and winning against the left and we have a chance in 2024 to run someone against the dems that I think could truly make this country a better place.
