Dugout - I hope it\'s not permanent

:cantbelievemyeyes

What?!? They just posted that they were going to start opening for lunch on Sundays... If it's true - that's terrible news!!

This was their response to a question about being closed: "No ma'am we are closed. We had to shut down over the weekend."

Sad. I never had the opportunity to try since I do not live in PC anymore. I always tried to support local establishments when I did live there. Kudos to the admin on this board giving a local biz the first banner ad to help get the word out

They have closed. There was an additional post on Facebook. I hate this for them and for us. They mentioned the overhead. Hopefully they can find a better location and be willing to try again. The food was good!

I hope they do - maybe Obama will help them build it back..

LOL.

I really am surprised after installing a new a/c system and just posting the other day..... I really hope it is not more than the overhead.

I am assuming a lease on a store front off the main non travelled area, much less having to install a new a/c system hits well into overhead.

Why, yes, I would think it does. My question to that would be why would you spend all that money on an a/c unit and within a few weeks close up shop? It does not make sense. :dunno
but
Let me ask this, does a business owner that leases a space pay for an a/c unit? It is a rental, so would the landlord be responsible? If not, when you leave the rental, you have just left thousands of dollars there and the space is more desirable for another renter, making the landlord able to charge more for the upgraded space.

I'm sorry to hear the news. They were...and are very nice folks. Maybe a better location is in their future :'(

The location was not good. I went to Tractor Supply a few times over the last two weeks and never did figure out where The Dugout was. And I'll tell you another big thing for any small restaurant in that vicinity to consider ... getting their menus to the government complex and offering to deliver there. Captive audience ... unless they all eat hotdogs every day.

I know he was negotiating with the landlord, and I think that's who ended up paying for it.

Thanks for answering! I was hoping that was the case after thinking about it.

The suite was originally set up as retail space. The A/C requirements for that are very different than a restaurant or tanning salon, just to give a couple of examples of businesses with high internal heat loads. The latter will require much more air conditioning to offset the heat produced by the cooking equipment, tanning beds, etc.

I'm only speculating, but it seems that maybe after installing new AC for them, the landlord may have decided to up their rent. :dunno
