I just gave my office a pretty deep cleaning.

Guess I couldn't stand it any more.

And installed a 1TB hard drive on my work computer with automatic back-up.

Sweet! Nothin' like new technology and an organized work space! I have to stop and clean my every so often or I go nuts. I HATE seeing 18 layers of dust on stuff (and this building is really bad about not filtering it out). Plus, I hate when I can't find anything.

Our office is dusty too. It adjoins our warehouse where we have a smelly gasoline fork lift, and we have dirty techs in and out of here.

I will get into the cleaning mode next week...for some reason the last week of December is when I get into clean out mode and I take on the motto...out with the old, in with the new lol I'll clean out files and clean off the two desk in my office and deep clean all the corners and such.

I like doing that this time of year, too. I think it's because most people are gone and I can work in peace because there's not a crush of work to be done Right This Minute.

When I was working at Headquarters, I had the cleanest office in the building. I hated clutter and I didn't do paper. The other offices always looked like a paper bomb went off. One day a Deputy Chief came through wanting everbody to clean up their offices because a Commissioner was coming in. He got to my office and said, never mind. I had a computer, a telephone, a writing pad and a small clock on my desk. I cleaned my office at least once a week, it took about five minutes. They thought I was a strange bird.
