Fill them gas tanks up TODAY or the price just might be $1 higher next week

My wife was in Dahlonega yesterday and needed to get gas. The first two gas stations she stopped at were out of gas. The next station had gas and posted signs limiting customers to a max of $40. My wife said nobody was paying attention to it as many were there filling up their pickup trucks and all the gas cans they had in the bed of them.

I believe it was just a week or two ago we were discussing the lack of truck drivers to get the gas from storage to the stations. If people panic buy, and they are, its' going to be hard for the existing trucks to get the stations full again without waiting until their normal day for delivery. There doesn't appear to be a lot of slack in the truck system right now.

I'll top off at half a tank, we don't do much driving anyway. I am planning a bike ride to TN and through NC this weekend though so that could get interesting. The following weekend we're headed to Nashville...if there's gas.

The following is the result of the panic buying taking place in the southeast.

The East Coast reported a 32.5% increase in demand Monday compared to the previous week, followed by the Midwest at 16.2%, the Gulf Coast at 13.1%, the Rocky Mountain region at 6.6% and the West Coast at 8.4%.

I downloaded the Gas Buddy app this morning and found that places near me are marked as "out of gas" and "out of diesel" with a few exceptions. We have several truckers loading for us today in IL heading to MS, in MI headed for CO and UT, and in TN heading for NC. So far we've not had of any dispatchers or drivers complaining about not being able to located available diesel....fingers crossed that it continues.

Now to track each individual down who was involved it the attack.
I saw on the news it was tracked back to Russia. If they can track it to Russia, then they can track it to the location it was done from. If that location is a government facility or the home of a government employee; then hit them with some tough sanctions. If it wasn't their government or a government employee; hit them with tough sanctions while telling them they better start arresting those we identify and try them.
