A news report was just on showing gas, excuse me "petrol" prices in Europe being over $8.00 per gallon. The news report began "If you think paying $3.75 per gallon is bad"....

IMHO, there is no excuse for us paying $4.00 per gallon, which is what I paid for premium today for the Scream Machine. I DON'T CARE what other countires pay, we could have been drilling for years and saving everyone, everywhere LOTS of $$$$$.

So don't think I'm going to buy into this "Look what everyone else pays" crap. :Stick

They have a different tax structure; so it's not apples to apples on fuel cost. What they pay isn't relevant; we're paying too much and it could be brought down if we had a government with a good energy policy.

And I will add to that...I'm sick of the liberals throwing Europe up to us. Emulating some of their methods and economic policies is part of what got us into this mess. And again, they aren't a valid comparison because they have a much different society than we do.

It kills me how those on the left in this country will proclaim European countries do not pay more in taxes than we do. They fail to do any research. More people use mass transit in Europe than here because the goverment taxes them so high to make them dependent upon government for transportation as well as health care.

If I wanted to live in frickin' Europe, I'd live in frickin' Europe, dang it.

I just couldn't do it. I've been told they don't know how to make a decent hamburger :Stick

I couldn't find hamburgers on any menu in any restaurant I went to in Germany.

I was in Germany once doing contract work for the military (I worked for a computer company who had a contract and I was training military personnel). If it hadn't been for Burger King on base and the Domino's Pizza in town, I would have starved.
