Georgia income tax moves to flat rate: How much taxpayers could save in 2024

I am for anything that cuts taxes. I am not trying to start a whole debate just making a statement. For the life of me I cannot understand why some Republicans (sorry but mostly Trumpers) belittle Gov. Kemp. His record on economics, family, religion, immigration, education, law enforcement, tax cuts, second amendment and states rights is staunch conservative and as good as any governor in the country. I get the liberals having a beef with him but not conservatives. Not Trump bashing just making an observation from personal experience.

Good point, who will we get to fill his shoes? We certainly don't want Abrams sneaking in. Speaking of which, what happened to the darling of the DNC last time around? You would have thought she would have gotten a plum job in the Biden White House... but as soon as the election was over, her blip disappeared from the radar screen.

I haven't really read much about a successor for Kemp. I don't think Abrams would be as much of a threat last time, she sot herself in the foot in the last election. The more she spoke, the more she people realized how much of a racist and Socialist she is. I read even a lot of black male voters were turned off by her rhetoric.

I think Joseph Gullet could be a good candidate for governor at some point.

There is speculation Kemp will run for the U.S. Senate. I hope so, he has the popularity to defeat either of the Democrats currently in there.

Don't be surprised if the left now considers Abrams politically dead. Don't be surprised either if Trump picks his own candidate to run for the Senate. It won't be Kemp either.

Kemp is wildly popular in Georgia, he will be the GOP candidate if he wants it.

Granted he and Trump are not on the best of terms, but Trump is smart enough to know he needs a GOP majority in congress, and that Kemp is by far the most likely to defeat one of the Dems.

but Trump is smart enough to know he needs a GOP majority in congress,.
If he does anything with it this time....

Speaking of his accomplishments, he timed the expiration of his tax cut bill to be after his second term was over, but now will be walking right into it if he wins. Will be interesting to see if anyone is willing to let it revert back to the old scheme.

If congress will support him, I suspect he'll do a whole lot. And I think a lot of heads will roll in the Justice Department.

Really? What about the last gubernatorial race?

Maybe they’ll run Hershel again.
