In a recent test I saw, the Bauor at Harbor Freight did very well against the competition.

I had a Lowe's shop vac and it didn't last long either. It was both wet/dry one and the first time I used it to vacuum up something wet, it burned out.

I bought the HD vac last Thanksgiving, I should have known I get what I pay for... the thing smells of melting plastic every time I use it.

Best to find a old ridged from before china at a yard sale. I nave a couple and they are going strong.

Stanley and Rigid make some decent vacs if you get the right model. Unfortunately I kind of look at shop vacs as use until it breaks, throw away and buy another. Oh yeah Shop Vac was pretty much junk.
