Google Chrome vs Mozilla Firefox

I have been using Duck Duck Go and while some websites freeze up, most others load up rather quickly. I also have Edge and Chrome, but I don't like all those spywares and cookies following me around.

Firefox forever. Don't like the spy stuff in chrome. Also the reader view button in firefox
works well to get rid of the "you are using a ad blocker" popup.
I have been on Duck Duck Go for years.

Before I had used Firefox back in 2007 and earlier, I think? I can't remember why I switched to Duck Duck Go other than I was told by my son that there were fewer cookies and no tracking. I liked Firefox.

What are the major differences in the two?

I don't use chrome except when I want to look at google maps if we are discussing a city or a country. I like how Google Map will give you a Satellite view, Duck Duck Go does not have good maps.

I read awhile back that Mozilla started with the Netscape Navigator architecture. How much of that is left, I don't know.

I still like Firefox, and I think it's better for security than Chrome or Edge. They've been improving the speed, it seems to be right there with the others now.

I keep reading that FIrefox is losing market share, so I worry that it will survive. Hope it does.
