Hardest thing I ever had to do

naturegirl

Rolling down the highway
Walk out of that nursing home leaving my mom to people I've never met in a place she's never been. Heart cath was not good news. Not even a candidate for stints, open heart surgery is all that could help but she's too weak and possibly too old to even make it through the surgery. She still can't walk and is scared she won't ever come home.

I need strength and prayers. Thanks for all you've given me in the last week, but a few more are greatly appreciated.

My heart aches for you and what you are going through. I have been there and still dealing with it. Much of what you are dealing with is the same as my mother. I keep you in my prayers and if you need to talk you know where to find me. :love

Yes, heartbreaking is a good description. Thanks everyone, we'll get through this. She's a strong woman with a strong will to live. Her mind is as sharp as a tack, she knows exactly what is going on. I'll help as much as I can but it's up to her and God from here.

Be thankful her mind is good. My mom had Alzheimer's and didn't understand what was happening to her. That made it much worse.

so sorry Cathy! I will keep you and your mom in prayer for sure! I know that had to be tough to leave her there.

Cathy, I am so sorry. I KNOW it was hard for you to do that. I am praying that whoever comes into contact with your mom, will be kind, gentle and loving. That they will see her as someone's mom, and not just another patient to take care of, and will care for her with that in mind. There are a lot of wonderful caregivers out there and I pray she has the best!

(HUGS), love and prayers for you & your mom! :love

Thanks everyone and Merry Christmas Eve. We all survived the night. lol

Her next door bed mate is a real sweetie, she's been there for a long time. Likes the same shows my mom does and is also unable to get up due to a broken knee. She called the nurse 2 times last night for my mom. :love

The nurses seem to be very warm to her and are really kind and caring. She's right down the road from you deewee. The nursing home is old and the beds aren't modern but so far it's very very friendly and down home. Watching those CNAs rolling them into the showers two and three at a time was fun!! I'm thinking it's going to be OK as long as we can get her out of that bed.

Hang in there. All you can do is to be there for her and keep her comfortable. Most of us have been there and you know you have our thoughts, prayers, and sympathy.

Cathy ... I can't do much physical but if there is anything that I can do to help you, please do let me know. Even as simple as dropping off some milk or a meal for you so that you don't have to think or worry about it.

Thanks to everyone, we'll get through this. God is in control, letting go is hard but he knows what he's doing. God is good.all.the.time.

I've got a sinus infection right now, but would like to visit her when I'm better. Let me know if you think she'd like a visitor. :love

I'm so sorry naturegirl and you will all be in my prayers. I hope and pray that your Mom is better very soon and I know this must be scary for all of you. Please let her know she has a lot of people praying for her.

I know this has been tough on you also naturegirl and if that is anything I can do to help you and your family out, please let me know. I will be glad to cook meals, visit your Mom, run errands or whatever you need. I am off from work for the next 10 days and I will be more than happy to help you.

I will vouch for this, sister. I've been where you are. God is indeed good all the time.
