HARP...FYI

DallasHwy,

If you have a mortgage you may want to talk to someone about your loan. There is a program called HARP. Home Assistance Refinance Program. It appears that many homeowners will be able to refinance at a lower interest rate at no cost. (well, possibly). There is always a cost, but, the expense may be lower than usual. It is possible that you can drop your monthly payment through this program. It is worth contacting a real estate expert such as C.Mark or Winchester for more information on how this makes real estate a great investment! (By the way I am a cop and I have no ties to real estate pros)

Sincerely,

Thanks JK, this may just help save someone's home.

Don't contact me, you need to speak with your lender. :whistle

This is a federal program out of the W/H and has many strings.....like you already have to be behind on your mortgage before they will talk to you. Then you will have many, many hoops to jump thru.

The goal of this program was to help prevent a few foreclosures. But the average home owner will not qualify. It's a badly flawed program from the very start!

Winchester,

We may be talking about two different programs. I am current on my payments and I qualify. This is not a modification program. As I find out more I will pass along.

Sincerely,

HARP #1 or #2?

There were 2 versions I believe. The first was such a failure I never read over the 2nd one (or the other 3 or 4 like kind programs). Not all lenders are participating also. And since it's a "lender thang", I don't get involved with those programs. lol

Read the fine print carefully. ;-)

HARP 2 is for Fannie Mae backed loans only. Still only a handful will qualify. Jason, we should all sit down, including our mortgage professionals and closing attorneys and run a brainstorm. I have the most qualified lenders and attorney that I know would be thrilled to participate. We're all just a tad miffed by the market but we know where the problems are. You're free to contact me at 770-324-6995 or mark@idealrealestateprofessionals.com

C. Mark,

I totally agree. I am definitely going to get with you and Winchester and the experts you suggested. Right now I am on lunch break. After work I have to start picking up signs. I had no idea school started the day after the election and I don't want to aggravate our educators. I am hoping to give you a call later tonight depending how the sign pick up goes.

Sincerely,

jk rogers
