The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 in Kennedy’s favor in August 2022, with the justice’s ruling that the First Amendment protected his right to pray on the field. A court later ruled in October 2022 that the Bremerton School District in Washington State must hire him back by March 2023. In a statement on its website dated March 6, Bremerton High School said that he would be an assistant coach for the 2023 season.

The district also said it reached an agreement on Kennedy’s attorney fees for $1,775,000, which the school board must approve.

Good! The left has tried to pervert the 1st Amendment and I'm glad the court used some common sense in ruling.

I used to argue this with TBAR at the (now abandoned) other place. He was connected with AU, which I thought odd since he was supposed to be a Baptist minister.

My only problem about this ruling is... what if the coach were a Muslim and knelt on the field and chanted Allah Akbar? Perhaps his players would be pressured to chant Allah Akbar or possibly ride the bench? Of course the coach would argue he's not pressuring anyone, but kids who want to impress the coach will probably do as the coach does. Don't think for a minute that won't happen now, particularly in places like Minnesota or Dearborn Michigan with a large Muslim population.

That's just something the government has no say in. The government can't approve of one religion and ban another without good reason.

I suspect the pulse of the individual communities will keep that mostly in check.

It does already.

Where they pray by getting on their knees and facing Mecca five times throughout the day... no one would think to fire a Muslim for keeping his religion... but when a devout Christian bends a knee to pray they fire him... see how it works?

Employers were required to provide reasonable accommodations for employees' religious beliefs and practices. A businesses must provide a room or quiet space to pray for a Muslim employee. No such stipulation has been put in place for Christians.

That guy was a mess.

I blocked him and The Post Man. Vile posters who were a waste of time to read.
