this is my 1st time since Sunday on a real computer....

I haven't even posted much on FB...but those of you who are my friends on Fb know what I have been dealing with

Monday my DD's temp got to 106...yes 106. I freaked out a tad, well a lot!!!! I cant have the fever eating up all her brain cells before the SAT or ACT...one of the CT's anyway

I gave her some meds and got it to come down but rushed her to Tanner in the night when it spiked back up to 106.6.I did not panic until the nurse panicked. WHen I told them what her fever was there was no waiting and the rushed her back very fast. We got fluids in her and the temp to come down within a few hours. We got to come home and rest some. She was so knocked out I took her temp a few times while she was sleeping and didn't budge.

this morning it is 101 and she is in a very gibber jabberery mood. SHe is gonna live lol

so the moral to this story is if you need fast service in the er tell them you have a fever of 106 or higher( i had the thermometer to prove it thought ) or your faint at the desk ( i did that once...no waiting)

I am so tired... I know she is 17 but I sat by her cause I was skeered. I have not had much sleep at all . I am drinking coffee to stay awake right now so I don't nap. I know once my head hits the pillow tonight it will be a sweeeeeeeeeet and welcomed feeling

now just pray I don't get sick!!!!

I'm glad she is feeling better! I had a fever like that a while back and BBG freaked out and took me to the hospital...the people over at Paulding Hospital were not that freaked and made me wait a while before being seen. I'm glad they didn't make you wait over at Tanner! Get some rest tonight.

I will never go to Paulding again.
them some strange ones there

Glad she's feeling better, high fevers always scare me. I ended up with strep throat at the end of last week and opted to go to the "immediate" care place in Douglasville and had to wait a few hours.... :dunno

anything with the word Douglasville in it and health care scare me lol

Amen! Lesson learned - I refuse to go to the immediate care place in Hiram so I tried D'ville. Not any better.

I was impressed with Tanner... I hope not to go back but I will if need be

WOW - that is scary! I am glad she is feeling better and you are right, a temperature of 106.5 is nothing to fool around with.

Don't feel bad about being scared even if she is 17. My daughter is 30 and my sons are 27 and you never stop worrying about their health and safety.

Best wishes for Lil Sadie for a full and complete recovery!

I have heard great things about Tanner. One of the major disadvantages of living in NE Paulding is the lack of easy access to a major healthcare facility. We've even discussed using Tanner at Villa Rica because I've heard such crap things about Kennestone and Cartersville (sorry...Paulding isn't even in the running). Although for ultra-serious emergencies, we do have the life flights which seem to ferry people to excellent medical centers with good results (Atlanta Medical Center and Erlanger, esp.).

Oh, and I'm SO glad Ashlyn is going to live. Man, there is some nasty bugs going around. My father's temp got up to 108 once when he had a raging staph infection. It weren't pretty.
