I have one particular supervisor who rules with an iron fist. I've never been that type of supervisor and couldn't be something I'm not....even if I tried.
I was just bragging a little last week to another supervisor that it doesn't take an iron fist to get things done. I mentioned that I have never had any problem getting people to do what I've asked and they would comply without me having to be the "bad" guy.
I took a few days off this week, but before I left work last Saturday I sent two supervisors an email, directing (not asking) them to start a new procedure. They are both off today and this is my first day back. Short story is they didn't do what I directed them to do. I know it for a fact because they decided to "freelance" and try doing it another way....a way that didn't work. They usually have NO problem calling me on an off day or vacation day if they need something. They didn't bother to call...email...nothing.
I've often told other supervisors that we can have a very pleasant work experience because I'm easy going, but warned them to NOT take advantage of it. Things will not so pleasant when I see them Tuesday! :Stick
