over the next 5 days! yall pray for me :laugh My kiddo is leaving this afternoon to go to NY. I don't know why it is making me so nervous but it is. So if yall don't mind..say some prayers today/tonight for safe travels for the entire group and for travels back home on Monday.
When I dropped her off this morning at school..she gave me the biggest hug and told me she loved me and not to worry and I had to fight back my tears. (She told me not to cry lol)

Ya big blubberfest!

(Yeah, I'm one to talk)

She'll be fine. She's a smart girl with a level head on her shoulders.

Exactly...you have no room to talk either!

I have a feeling between now and August I am gonna be a big fat crybaby!

:hug
Really though, she is the last teen I would worry about. She is smart! She will do as she is told and there will not be any problems. She is going to have the time of her life!!!

Praying for you, girl! New York - you should have gone with her, what a blast!!

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. I signed the Boy up for a church camp in June. I'm already stressing. He'll be gone Monday through Friday and he'll be next to a lake without my supervision.

Crap! What was I thinking?!?!?!?

As y'all know, I don't have kids. But I freak out the same way about my nephews. 15yo nephew's youth group (WHY do these stupid idiot youth ministers think up crap like this?!?!?) decided that a 2-week mission trip to a children's home in Guatemala would be just the thing this summer. Before the words were even out of their mouths, I said, "NO." They said, but it's doing such great work for this children's home. I said NO!!! And then I forwarded them the State Dept.'s web site info on travel advisories for Guatemala. It scared me to death just reading it. After much ado, they finally did say no.

Back to my question - why do these youth ministers think this crap up? Like there's not enough poor people who need help in Johnson City, TN? Or if they want to go somewhere, an Indian reservation out west? Sheesh.

OK, off soapbox. I'll be prayin', RNG.

Heard from my babygirl this morning about 8am. They were rolling into NYC! She was so hyper..lol

She said HEY MOM! really loudly and said we can see the city...we are almost there! Soon as we get there we are going to Central Park I'll text you a pic =) She said she didn't get much sleep and finally had to get in the floor and she was able to sleep a couple hours.

Just glad she made it! Thanks for the prayers yesterday =) I'll ask for them again on Monday for the travels home ;D

Mine texted with her last night, he was thinking they would be there earlier. Dang that was a long bus ride! Poor kids. (and teachers!)

Yes it was a long ride! They had to make several stops for potty breaks/dinner and then had to stop around 2 or 3am to switch drivers so all that took time and added on a few hours to the drive. But they said it wasn't that bad and they were all excited!

If it makes any of you older people feel better, my children are 8 and 11. So, if y'all would like to come over and watch my children and reminisce about the good ol' days you are more than welcome. I do charge by the hour and my children do expect to be tipped.
