Interesting. We saw an old documentary on TV this morning that was made back in the 50's. It was all about how a house that is freshly painted and in good repair with a yard free of clutter can withstand a nuclear blast better than a house in disrepair. It was produced by the "Paint it - Clean up - Fix up Committee". And it was supposed to be entirely serious, but was actually hilarious.
