KENNESAW, Ga. - The Big South Conference announced Wednesday that it will postpone all fall sports with the intention of playing a spring season. That includes the Kennesaw State Owls football program.

Although the Big South did include language saying that "football members to participate in up to four non-conference games in the fall due to contractual obligations."

Kennesaw State still has two non-conference games on its schedule that have not been cancelled at the time of publication. October 3rd vs Samford and October 10th at North Alabama. While those games are allowed, a KSU spokesperson said that the school has not reached a decision on whether or not they will paly those games.

My friends and I have been debating the NCAA season a couple of months now. The only sports I watch a lot of is NCAA football. I watch multiple games every week during the season. I just don't see how anyone is going to maintain a football schedule during the COVID panic. This includes high school, NFL and NCAA. I think the NCAA in particular needs to offer something along the lines of a senior year "redshirt" to allow the upper classmen that cannot play their final year to be eligible when things get back to normal. The vast majority of these guys will never play at a level past college so give them a chance to play one last season. JMO.

The main issue I have when I hear of playing in the Spring is... how do they know that Spring will fare any better than the Fall for the virus? I mean that is right after the flu season on top of COVID. I honestly thing they should let fall sports play out. Of course the magical no COVID after election day may be the main reason to postpone....

Look I know how serious COVID is, I have lost my FIL to it. But for these young men and women in college sports, I think they can push through it. It may not be a popular opinion, but that is how I feel at the moment.

I think you are correct. If you use the numbers from my city, sadly, the virus hits those over 60 the worst, as far as mortality. 86% of the deaths are those over 60.

3 deaths in the 20 to 29 age range which represents .5% The photo of those young 20's they showed on the news, were morbidly obese. These three died before the protests started. The news stations tried to sensationalize how young people were dying, :runforhills2:to scare people into staying home. now they are saying there could be swelling in the heart and heart damage to young people. We'll see.

No more, by the way have died and the numbers have exploded for that age demographic. (Protesters UNITE!!!... oh, I forgot, no one got covid from protesting.) The 20 - 29 age demographic now represents 25% of the illnesses in my city, or 8496 young adults who have contracted it. Three morbidly obese deaths resulted early on.

I think they should play. If a player opts out, so be it. The majority of the players want to play. There are many who want another opportunity to catch the eyes of the NFL scouts; the reason many went to college to play football.

Yeah, I wonder how they are working the funding of the scholarships if they don't play and have income to cover them...

I really think that if a player on scholarship opts out, they lose their scholarship for that year and have to pay the tuition for their classes themselves. They receive the scholarship in exchange to play football.
