Last Man Standing

I had given up on network television several years ago and have not watched it. I tried watching "The Middle" and stopped that after the language just became too much for the "family hour".

This week I did watch the new Tim Allen series, "Last Man Standing". Although it seems like it is not getting the best reviews I will watch it again. It relates easily to his former show ("Home Improvement") character "Tim the Tool Man", (men grunt here).

The most interesting and entertaining part to me was his wife's character. She had been a stay at home mom for several years and just returned to the work force, was quickly promoted and announces she will be spending more time at work. Allen's character has found he has less to do at work.

After I watched 2 one-half hour episodes I became quite envious of you women who work outside the home. Allen is dealing with his 3 daughters' problems most of the time. The mom is seen sipping a glass of wine in the living room and patio. She is getting herself ready for work in the morning whilst Allen deals with daughters. At the end of the show she is shown placing a bowl of salad and salad bowls on the dining table. Not once is she shown doing any housework, laundry, cooking, etc.

According to this show, you working girls have got it made! ;)

Mrs. Reacher and I watched it and enjoyed it. I told her it was nice to see a decent sit-com again. Since I'll be working next Tuesday, I've got the DVR standing by. Tim Allen is a pretty funny dude :))

I'm thinking if they had an episode of her just cleaning the house, the ratings would take a big hit! :laugh

It was same ole Tim Allen stuff; but that's not a bad thing. I thought it was pretty good and will give it a chance.

Nancy Travis is a great choice for the wife. She's witty and I've always thought she was gorgeous, which doesn't hurt.

There just aren't many...if ANY good sit-coms anymore. Mrs. Reacher wanted to see an episode of 2 and a half men. I watched it and decided the title was all wrong.

It should be "One Kid, One Sissy Man and One Idiot Who Is So Full Of Himself He Makes Me Want To Barf" ::)

hehe...I have often thought I would love to live on a television/movie set. There is never a speck of dust, floors are immaculate, bathrooms never need to be cleaned, etc.

I would NOT want to live on a commercial set because that is ALL they do is clean, dust and do laundry.

I didn't recognize her. What has she been on previously?

Lots of movies. 3 Men and a Baby, for one.

Nancy Travis is the wife? Awesome. She's VERY good. I loved her in "So I Married An Axe Murderer". That was Mike Myers at his best, before he sold his soul when he figured out how much money he could make doing just puerile, 7th-grade locker-room humor. :sigh:
