Lookie what I can do!

Driver In Training
For those that know me, I generally play dumb when it comes to the kitchen. I get made fun of for my inability to cook but, in reality, when I get in there and actually try, I can come up with some pretty awesome stuff.

I just don't try often. ::)

Anyway - Littlest will be 1 this weekend and his birthday party is theme is simply ROY G. BIV (the colors of the rainbow...but no actual rainbows present). So, I baked cake in a jar, rainbow striped fudge, rainbow layered jello and yogurt, and rainbow layered rice krispie treats.I also painted wooden picture frames of various sizes and filled them with pictures of him from pregnancy to now, and have decorations in every solid color I could get my hands on and/or create.

The poor kid even has striped baby legs to match his blue and ROY G. BIV striped 'F' shirt.

Below is the cake-in-a-jar, his mini-cake before baking, and dyed pasta.

Gah!!! So cute!!! This is what I'm going to do for BabyB's first!!

We don't watch TV, and he really isn't interested, either, so I have no shows to base it off of (Sesame Street, etc.) like I see on Pinterest. Soooo....

I bought an old, antique high chair at an estate sale for $15. It'll be painted red. I found a website where I can buy tissue pom poms for 1.78 ea., along with some other stuff. I'm so excited!!! Lol Post pics of the Party so I can steal your ideas. LOL

Why don't you just make tissue pom poms, dork? :taunt

That's what I did, anyway. lol. Of course, I only made one bigger one to go over the cake table (it's blue and purple).

We made a paper airplane garland out of the colors of the rainbow. It.is.SO.CUTE!

I'm going to assume you didn't catch the thread 'elsewhere' where I didn't get into art school. :'( :taunt

Maybe I should be a baker!

Or just stick with my current degree, because another major change would add another year before I can graduate. :huh

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I've been very busy and have missed a lot of things. I'm so sorry!!! Man, that sucks. You are so incredibly talented. However, it's been my life experience that this will turn out to be a fortuitous turn of events that will come out better for you in the end anyway. And I'll certainly pray that that happens! :hug

Birthday success!!!

I'm including pictures of the homemade fudge, jello, and rice krispie treats. ?

Awesome! :cheer1

Lord help me. I can't even type the word "awesome" without hearing my daughter do that cheer.

You had great ideas! I'm sure it turned out so well! Your theme is wonderful!

I still had so much to learn for the 1st b-day party. My little one has always had severe allergies. I didn't know what to do! I made jello and whipped cream for his "cake" and he turned his nose up at it and cried the whole time. Thankfully it was just family! LOL
