Moderna vaccine study shows at least six months protection (the length of the study)

Old man like you, this isn't something to fool around with. :)

But seriously folks, a guy who does some contracting work for me thought it was no big deal and he wound up so sick he dictated his will. He's 55 and in good health. His wife had it too, but she fought it at home. She said it was the sickest she has ever been.
Me - almost 57, Type II diabetic, slightly asthmatic, pot belly, and classified as overweight according to the BMI. Definitely in the high risk category but life goes on.

It does but you can be cautious. Be safe my friend.

It kicked my butt for several days, like a bad flu. I also had the extreme depression for those days that has been reported. I was feeling ready to just give up on life a couple of times. It's nasty stuff.

They cancelled choir for now. And small groups.
Yep, we got the text and email. Sorry to say but we’re going to visit another church tomorrow. I’m over this crap, call me when they want to play church again.

Actually, they did the right thing. They're having quite the outbreak over there.

They probably did and I don’t blame them but I need corporate worship with others who need the same. We’ve had friends invite us a few times but we’ve been putting it off. I was really excited about unrestricted in-person service including choir and small group this weekend so the news was very disappointing. It’s kinda like I can’t get the Braves games anymore. I’m not doing this another year.

You guys know that I haven't been a fraidy cat about COVID, but at the same time my understanding of science tells me that there are certain activities that will spread COVID like there's no tomorrow. Unfortunately, church is one of them. We congregate, we hug, we sing, etc. Choir is like the perfect storm for spreading COVID. I have maintained all along that all it would take is one person in the choir with it, and there will be a major event from it. And that is exactly what happened.

Last I heard was 12 positives, and we can add my daughter to that. I suspect it's higher still now, just haven't gotten an update. If Wife and I test positive, that's at least 15.

Hopefully no one with issues that can make it worse.

Be aware that it's not as accurate. i took the 15 min and was cleared, but the assisted living only took took the lab test, so I took it the next day and it came back positive again. Then a lab test 2 days later came back neg.

I sure hate to hear that, ya’ll take care and please keep us posted. Any updates from other church members?
Just that a bunch of them got it, including one who was fully vaccinated.

Spreading with the veracity it did, I wonder if it's not that new, super aggressive strain?

I hope your symptoms are like I have witnessed. Feel badly 2 days, then 4 days or so head cold symptoms, followed by fatigue a week or two after, but no complications. Praying for mild symptoms for you and all who got it at the church.

Part of me feels it would be better just to get Covid so the worrying stops.

I did get an appointment for a vaccination for tomorrow. I just received a text reminder! My co worker, who had covid, and has gotten the vaccine, found an open appointment time and pushed me to go get it.

I figured I have not gotten it, I probably don't need the vaccine... so I had thought I was not going to go out of my way to get the vaccine.

However, I really don't have the ability to take off the necessary 10 days if I get exposed or sick... we are short people. I already had to quarounteen one time last year. The other part of me wonders if the shot only gives 8 months of immunity, what is the point.

I got that between vaccine shots and just chalked it up to annual pollen miseries. That's the problem with this time year,,, are you sneezing and feeling headachy from Covid or allergies, and either way if you try to go to the doctor you fail their screening protocols. This is crazy!
