There are some songs where the studio version is far better than the live version. Two are Edgar Winter's Frankenstein and Humble Pie's Thirty Days in the Hole. On a side note, did you know Rick Derringer (Rock n Roll Hoochie Koo), was the lead guitarist for Edgar Winter?

Here's another piece of trivia for you. Before his stint with Edgar, Derringer was the lead singer and guitarist for The McCoys (Hang on Sloopy). Derringer and The McCoys went on to be Johnny Winter's band. The group was called Johnny Winter And.

This is a nice clip of a guy who plays his guitar and invites total strangers to come sing while he plays. The story behind the guy who comes up and sings is inspiring, it only gets better when he starts singing. Not really my type of music but it's a great clip:

Reminds me of a regular attender of our Gospel Jam. The guy is simply amazing, he plays a long list of instruments and is just an inspiration to everyone who hears him.

Here ya go GD, see if you can download some of this guys work and play it on your sound system...

In case you are wondering, that is a Button Accordion,,, I had to look it up.

Robbie Robertson passed away. I believe that leaves only Garth Hudson alive from The Band. Robbie wrote the majority of the music for the group and played lead guitar. Levon Helm was always my favorite member but Robertson was the pseudo band leader. Out of respect I will leave out all the controversy Robbie had with his band mates and concentrate on the great music they made. There was an amazing amount of talent in this group. They were all multi instrument artists that could actually play and sing not just run around to sound tracks like these talent less idiots that are famous today. RIP Mr. Robertson.
