New Bird Feeder, no birds yet :(

My daughter and I painted a bird feeder this weekend to give my wife a little time to rest. Put it out Sunday AM and haven't seen a bird yet. Can't say I know anything about birds, do they take awhile to trust a new feeder or maybe it's the paint job on it :)

It may take them a little while to find it if they haven't been used to there being a feeder there before.

I got a new one on Saturday too. No birds yet but it could be where the crazies men I live with put it. :Stick

'Bout all you can do is whoop on my kneecaps. :laugh

When I take out the kneecaps and have you on the ground, the rest is gravy. BOO YAH!

We have three feeders in the backyard that have been there for several years now. There's always birds there. When we let the dogs out, they like to chase them. The birds obviously don't mind because they keep coming back. It took a couple of weeks for the birds to start using them after we put the first one out. They used the additional ones right away.

That little girl is just adorable. She looks like she is very proud of that feeder. :love

Don't be surprised if the squirrels find it first. We hang ours from very tall shepherd's hooks. They haven't yet figured out how to get in it. But if there was a tree branch close by I think they'd tear in up in a hurry. We found out the hard way, they want to crack those things opened to get all the seeds. :rant

I guess it takes them a bit to trust or find the new feeder. MrB loves birds, and he has several feeders scattered around our tiny yard. He went last week and used his gift card at Bird Watchers Supply and got a new feeder, though no birds have used it yet. They are using the ones that have been there for years, but I have not seen any on the new one.

Fox, my dog also loves to chase the birds. He is such a scardy cat. We had an injured bird that didn't fly off once and he freaked out. Finally he just laid on his belly with his head to the ground and stared at it. LOL

Well the birds showed up this am at the feeder (in the wrong place). Let the poodle out and she barked and scared them away.

I had some creeping around today, it's right outside my office window, so I see it all day (and most of the night). I've got a BB gun nearby for any pesky squirrels :)
