News regarding The Zion Quartet

After 3 years of being with The Zion Quartet, I have agreed to step down as lead vocal due to my conflicting work schedule. It was a blessing to be a founding member of the group and I enjoyed every opportunity I had to sing with some of the finest men I have met.

I accept this as God's direction for me at this time and look forward to a time when I may return. Unfortunately when you have an occupation that operates 24/7/365, someone has to work unusual hours. In this case, many people have to work unusual hours. My employer has been very supportive of our ministry for many years, first with The Pioneers Quartet and now with Zion, but things can not always stay the same and adjustments have to be made.

To the guys of Zion, may God continue to bless your efforts as you play and sing the Gospel to those in need.

I know that hurts. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I am sure you will soon see that window that God opens when he closes a door.

Thanks NJ. I have an open invitation to return when and if my schedule changes, so it could be worse. I appreciate it. ;D

Thanks y'all. I've been singing in quartets off and on since I was 16 years old. More "on" than "off". It's difficult to step away from, even for a while. It's hard to explain how a certain style of music can get under your skin and stay there forever. But it's not the music alone, but the message it conveys.

I remember thinking since I was a teen that all I wanted to do was sing full time in a quartet. That is SO demanding that a person really needs to do that when they are young and single. In 1997 when I was actually invited to do it, I had already been at my job for 12 years, was married and had the young Daughter Reacher. I told the group that asked me that I was very flattered, but they should have called me 15 years ago.

Oh well, it's just an "off" time right now. If I have the opportunity to worka different schedule in a few months, I'll be "on" again. :D

JR, I know this hurts your heart. Your group was awesome!! But you'll have the opportunity to work with them again at Paulding Meadows, heck they might even invite you to sing with them. :)

They won't have a choice :))

I understand, believe me. Although, this does clear the way for an eventual Reacher Revelator, you know!

It certainly won't be the same without you in the lineup, but I pray that you'll be able to step back in. Of course, you never know when that other trail might open up again.. ;D

We never really know what has been planned for us, I learned a long time ago it's best just to roll with it. He knows much better than I. :)
