Oh my gosh!!

Oh my gosh! I can't wait for more info to come out about this. I'm curious as to why the grandmother never called anybody about her suspicions. If anything, the police could have come by and done a welfare check. What kind of shape are the sisters in? If he'd only been kept captive like this for 4 years, how did he go off the grid without arousing suspicion anywhere...school system, other family members, friends, etc.

It just amazes me when someone does stuff like this to a child. God, I'd give my life for any one of mine. I just don't understand. :'(

It'll be interesting to hear the rest of the story on this. What were the sisters told about where he went? Assuming this was just over the last 4 years, what started it? What was he told (or threatened) that kept him from leaving? Were none of the kids ever known to "the system" ... none of them were enrolled in school.

Though it certainly is not something that I would/could ever do, I don't have such an issue with the bus aspect. The kid is 18 and the step-father certainly could kick him out. Giving him some money was extra. But wth ... the last 4 years just don't make sense in my head. Baffling to me that someone can do that to any human. It's like with a pet ... if that's how you're going to treat them, find them a new home.

I wonder if the grandmother will end up facing any charges for her complacency?
