Ouch. Formidable competition for Paulding Film initiative.

aka "The Jackal"
Putting aside the fact that film industry subsidies have the smallest payback of any industry specific tax incentive program, Paulding now has another problem. Fayette County has just announced a 288 acre "campus" which is to be operated by Pinewood Studios. It will initially open with 305,000 sq. ft. of sound stage space.

In addition to 5 large sound stages, there will be wood and metal shops, special effects facilities, and office and warehouse space. It will also house the newest film industry school and apprentice program in the nation. The school will be a partnership with the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees and Clayton State University.

I'm not sure if Paulding saw this coming, or if they have any counter to it. It will certainly be tough competition for our fledgling effort.
