OH EM GEE. I was channel surfing tonight, and happened across the History Channel (I think it was) and got my first glimpse of the American version of Top Gear. OH. MY. GOSH. Can I just tell you how horribly awfully hideously terrible it was? OHMYGOSH!!! I couldn't bear to watch more than about three minutes. Top Gear needs to revoke their permit and just air the real version on American TV. On second thought, the ratings will revoke their permit and then they can air the real version on American TV.

I'm not kidding...it was truly awful. I'm traumatized. I think I may need to see a counselor. :huh :sick :rant

THIS is the one and only Top Gear. Period. :rant

Daughter Colson pulled up On Demand last night to check out a few episodes and accidentally selected one the American Top Gear shows. At first I told her to leave it so we could see a few minutes....at least give it a chance. We didn't last 3 minutes :sick

I have never seen the other version of the show, but I absolutely hate the American version of the show!
 
I'm not a big Brit Fan, but they have the corner on the market with Top Gear. It's our favorite show :DN
 
Well, I'm a total Anglophile, and it's def. one of my very favorite shows. THE BBC VERSION. Why on EARTH did they think they could replicate that quirky British humor and those three hilarious personalities? GAH!!!

In this, we are justified in our snobbery. Some things we colonists don't do nearly so well as the folks across the pond, and copying their shows is one of them. Snobs R Us. :sniffingdisdainfully:

I don't know what they were thinking. We're supposed to be "original" over here in the good 'ol U.S. People can't seem to come up with their own material anymore. Goobers! :Stick
