Great idea, deewee.

I would like to lift up Marty from my church, and his family. His mom has been quite sick, but will probably get better. His brother is in very bad shape and it isn't looking good. Both in the hospitals, and different hospitals at that.

We just received word that Marty's brother has zero brain activity. The family has some difficult decisions to make.

I just got an e-mail that after being pronounced brain-dead, Marty's brother has started showing some brain activity. The doctors have no explanation for this.

Still too early to know what the prognosis is, but the family is asking for continued prayers.

They are still seeing brain activity, but last night he was running 103 temps and there was swelling in the brain.

Still praying!

Madea- many in my church are now praying for you, your mom & dad, and the rest of your family.

My friend's dad that was released to hospice is at home now. Her mom is elderly too and having trouble doing everything for him. I'm gonna cook dinner and take it over one night this week. Also gonna see if I can step in and help her mom around the house. I took care of this couple last fall for a few weeks til I took a full time case on. I have a little free time now and helping is the only way I know to bring comfort to them. Her mom is quite unsteady on her feet and uses a walker.

Thank you, deewee, for this thread. :love

Most welcome. I knew there were other folks with prayer needs. I just thought it might be a good idea for us all to share in praying for those needs and supporting each other. :love

God is still in the healing business! Prayer works!!!!

I just ask all to please continue to pray for our grandson and our daughter. I know it will be hard today as she leaves the hospital and is not able to bring the baby home.

Continuing to pray.

Adding these all to my prayer list.

I have a couple to add in return.

My dad has been sick with several different types of cancer. First it was lung cancer and they had to remove most of his lung. Then he had cancer show up in his colon and they removed it. Now he has cancer on his liver. The first spot that showed up on the liver they said they could possibly (95%) chance of getting it with a laser treatment. Well that didn't work becuase they didn't get all of the outside ring of the cancer. He has taken 5 radiation treatments and they are hoping this slows it down. This is a very agressive type cancer and my dad is 75 and refused to take Chemo.

Another is a childhood friend of mine and my family is close to her family as well. Her daughter Mia is 7 yrs old and they found out she has Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). She is now at St. Jude and getting her treatments. She was transported to St. Jude from Shreveport.

Thanks!

Praying for your dad and friend/friend's daughter.

I'm saying prayers for everyone mentioned in this thread. I agree with marinemom - God still performs miracles every day and his miracles never cease to amaze me.

I hate to see anyone suffer and I pray God's blessings on everyone who is hurting either physically, emotionally or both and pray for the families, friends and caregivers of those hurting.

I am also grateful for the wonderful people here on dallashighway.com as they are some of the most caring, sincere, compassionate people around. :love

I'm not yet sure of the details, but the brother did pass away.

Please keep the family in your prayers.

All of these requests have been in my prayers. I also have one. A 5 year old girl was out playing with her sister and fell down and hit her head on the concrete. She is in a coma and has been for a few days. They did surgery to drain the fluid from her brain and went in for an MRI tonight. Please pray that her parents get good news.

Still praying for all, Shoediva will add the little girl to my list. Kids can be amazing, hopefully her parents will get good news.

I'm praying too! I love interceding for others, in prayer. And I'm so thankful that no matter where we all live, we can all support each other this way. :love

My uncle is back in the hospital with pneumonia, but everything else seems to be OK now. I had a great day with the lady I take care of on Thursdays & Fridays. She was up, moving around and doing stuff all day. She's not elderly...actually not really all that much older than I am. But she does have a LOT of diseases and disorders. The worst being RSD (basically chronic pain with constant nerve burn) on the right side of her body, auto immune disorders and now diabetes. She is basically housebound per doctor's orders so unless we're going to the doctor, she never leaves. Most days she lays on the sofa all day long, so I was really proud of her being so energetic today. Her appt with the endocrinologist this week went very well and we're really excited about getting her diabetes under better control.

Thank you all for keeping my little grandson in your prayers and please continue. He is doing great and is now at 2 lbs 15.5 ozs. So within the week he lost down to 2 lbs 11 ozs but has gained it all back plus now passed his birth weigh within a week. He is still on a feeding tube but other wise he is doing great.

That's wonderful news!! Markie was on the feeding tube til he was about three weeks old, when he could finally take a bottle he sometimes forgot to breathe, don't panic if the little guy does this. It's hard for them to do two things at once. We just had to stop the feeding and stimulate him. He made it through!! Still praying for him and the family!!

Born2bwild's dad passed today. :(

My BIL was caught in the tornado that left Birmingham. He was in a mobile home. All the hospitals in Gadsden and Birmingham were full, they had to transport him to Anniston. He has no feeling in his legs. Please pray hard!! :(

We were with family at the funeral home in Gadsden and keeping in touch as best we could with those in Huntsville, Tuscaloosa, and Birmingham. We decided to leave and try to stay ahead of the worst of it. We made it home OK but don't want to do that again. Hope your BIL is OK. Prayers said.
