Primary Election

aka "The Jackal"
I'm no longer voting in the 14th district, so I don't see any need to vote in the Republican Primary. That leaves not voting or voting in the Democratic Primary. I think I will do the latter.

In an effort to pull votes away from the Commies and to cast a vote for a man who has actually put some independent thought into his positions, I'll vote for John Delaney. He's not a perfect candidate, but he's pissed a lot of people off by thinking for himself, and to me that makes him much better than the rest. Plus the poor dude has been running since 2017. He deserves props for that.

As for the general election, I won't be voting for a Democrat. I won't be voting for Trump. I would vote for Pence. It looks like I won't be voting for any of the dipsticks in the Libertarian party either. It looks like I'll be leaving the Presidential vote blank.

I wish the Libertarians could get their crap together. Such good policies, for the most part, but they run a bunch of clowns for candidates, virtually assuring that they will lose.
The party itself is dominated by Millennial anarchists. Most don't have a career or a direction, and most feel disaffected. They tend to nominate their own kind. If you've ever been to a local party meeting you will immediately see why the candidates all seem like they were probably homeless last month.

Well, that doesn't sound good for their future.

And here we are again with a choice of sucks and sucks waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay worse.

The Democrats won't be voting for a candidate, they will be voting against Trump.
I'll be voting against the communist/socialist/progressive that is chosen by the DNC. Even if they choose Bloomberg... I foresee private rights being taken away. If you like your soda you can keep your soda... ah yeah...

It is scary to live in California and think the whole country could become this.

Trump has helped reduce the flood of illegals that were coming into my city (in spite of the tears and screaming people who want all illegals to come on through.) There has been a reduction in refugees. Our country needs to help the mentally ill and drugged out homeless... be it mental institutions or prison... I don't really care, but there is not enough for all now as it is... why bring more people who are not self sufficient. We have too many on assistance.

Last night I had to tell a homeless couple who thought they could park their car in my hotel garage, and sleep, that they were not welcome. We have untold amounts of people living in cars out here... the government is making parking lots for them to sleep in as they pay for homes for refugees and benefits of food, insurance and everything else for illegals...?????

A comment I agree with:
Impeachment started before election and has not stopped...the people who normally vote for dims/independents need to realize prog/soc/dims hate the president and want power that they are willing to destroy our country to obtain it...the opportunities that should/could have been realized...the money spent on these endless investigations could have really helped the mentally ill, the homeless, even their loved illegal immigrants...WAKE THE HELL UP and STOP BEING "WOKE"...

Make no mistake about it the country as we have known it will not exist for your grandchildren or possibly even children. The founding fathers were probably the greatest think tank that ever existed politically. They crafted an almost perfect system of rule. The one thing they could not for see was the unproductive out breeding the productive but keeping the same right to elect leaders as the productive. At the time of the constitutional congress met there was no voting rights for women or even a thought of slaves having that right. I am no scholar but at one time I think only landowners had a say in elections. The motivation of having something taken away (entitlements) is a more powerful motivation than the opportunity to work at something and reaping the rewards long term if you are non productive.

There is an author that I read that in his world, to vote, you have to have paid in more in taxes than direct benefits you receive. So no landowner or anything, you just have to a productive citizen to vote. I've wondered how that would work. Of course, with the huge federal deductibles and tax credits we have now, that would mean close to 50% of the US would not be able to vote as they pay no federal taxes.

We'd see riots of kind never seen if we tried to move to that. It would also cancel out a lot of the elderly, who are trying to live off of social security and what pensions they have.

Yes, a lot has changed as voting rights go. Only land owners could vote before 1820. Poll taxes were common too, meaning you had to pay a tax to vote. And women and black people couldn't vote.

While I agree with letting women and black people vote, I'm not sure but what the framers had the other parts right. It kept the people who want something for nothing from voting.

Well Doug Collins has thrown his hat in the ring for the Senate and he's my Congressman. This changes everything with or without a jungle primary.

Who's running against him in the primary, and who are the Dems putting up?

Paul Broun has once again announced for the 9th. He couldn't beat Collins straight up, but he will probably win this time because of his name recognition. He's a strong fiscal conservative but also a young earth fundamentalist. It's going to be hard to pull that lever come November. I will be exploring other candidates in the primary.
