This has been coming on for years. I have not smoked weed in 35+ years but I know people who smoke. I consider myself a conservative but have a Libertarian streak on some social issues. I always thought weed should be legal but taxed and regulated much like alcohol. This would decrease strain on law enforcement and the prison system as well as increase tax revenue taking some strain off of the working man's paycheck. Let an individual make the choice if they want to smoke just like if they choose to drink. If they are driving impaired, fighting, DV, public intoxicated, under age, etc. prosecute them just like they do an individual that is drunk. As for the gateway drug argument there may be some validity but I think like everything else it depends on the individual. Bottom line people who want to smoke are going to smoke legal or not.

I've been saying it should be legalized for years. It's been proven medically to provide help for glaucoma and cancer patients.

And really, is it any worse than alcohol? It's probably less harmful.

How can Circle K sell it legally when it's still a federal offense....other than labeling it for medical purposes.

This is a very small sample size, but while watching On Patrol: Live, I don't think any of the police departments on there arrest anyone for marijuana any longer even if it is still illegal in their state. Unless the offender has a large amount meant for distribution, they just have them destroy it on-site or the police take it and destroy it later.

Legalize it and tax the crap out of it.
