I think my boss is angry with me, or at least resenting me due to the fact I will be leaving for at least 12 weeks if not longer when BabyB gets here. I can't figure out any other reason for his..... snarkiness?.... I don't know how to describe it. This is the same one that I posted about that said "mute" instead of "moot".

I have always had a great, friendly relationship with him, knowing where the boss/employee line is. Fact is, I have worked for these two men since I was 21, except for the year I left and took the Chattanooga job. But I came back in 2009 after the lay off. 3 people can't work together this long and not be friends. Our colleagues in other states joke that I am like a "house mom" for them.

Anyway, of the two, one I do expect nasty remarks from. The other, never. I just called to ask if I could quote a project since engineering is in MN and the end user/plant is in FL. Both are out of our territory, and the last time I went against my better judgment and quoted in TN, we were reprimanded for crossing territory lines by our principle. So, the response I got was, "Well, there is nothing else going on, is there? You have nothing else to do. We hve to get orders to make money." And so on... he implied I am trying to get out of working.

WTH??? I reminded him of the TN incident and explained that I don't care to do it, but would rather not get us in trouble again.

Ugh.

Also, I am convinced that Palmer's Coco Butter and Lindt are in cahoots (sp?) with each other. Palmer's lures pregnant women in, promising less stretch marks, and then smells all white chocolatey. All day. So, when I use it I am reminded of the bag of Lindt Lindor White Truffles I have stashed in the pantry at home. Like I need them. I will eat two as soon as I get home.

My wife slathered herself in cocoa butter when she was preggo. I told her if she wasn't careful she'd slide off the delivery table. ;D

That's been almost 23 years ago, I can't remember in my old age.

AND, Monday I noticed that my pants had ripped only by looking in the mirror. That is because I can’t see under my belly. This was only after I realized why I look so different: I can no longer see my collar bone.
 :'(

FWIW, he may be thinking about how to run things with you gone. And it isn't making him a happy camper.

That, and he may be missing you already ... :))

It's tough to lose someone that knows what they are doing for an extended period of time. It's horrible to train someone for a temporary position. I would suggest you sit down and talk to him, ease his mind a little. It always helps to have one on one conversations.

Y'all are right. That is probably the issue... I know he stayed pretty upset with me when I left. I just don't know how to handle stuff like this. It is so frustrating. THey knew when I left the first time it was to settle down in TN and start a family. They knew when I came back that TN was put on hold, but we still wanted to start a family.

I guess it just frustrates me becuase it shouldn't be a suprise. But, I guess I can make myself feel better by telling myself it's 'cause I am so awesome and they can't operate without me :laugh

Being an employer, this crossed my mind as well. And good advice as to how to handle it.

I'd tell him that since he doesn't think you have any work to do, then it'll be easy for him to cover for you. 8)

.......or not. It's probably not best to take my advice. ;D
