Ron Crist Withdrew From the School Board Race

I am surprised that it has not been posted here. He was challenged by a voter yesterday. The charge was that he did not live in Paulding County. I really thought there would be some comments on that from the Hwy.

I do not have a dog in this fight... but I will say that some of the comments
over at the other place are skating awfully close to defamation of character.

I saw the post, where he withdrew, and now where everyone is questioning his business ethics. I didn't bring it up over here because only one side of the story was presented over there and I wanted to see what other facts were out there. Based on what I saw, there is a good likelihood that the guy lives in Cobb County.

I read it on the Patch late yesterday. The report is pretty damaging. I'm not sure why he would do that. He had spoke with my husband several times prior to entering the race. I haven't read comments anywhere. Now I may go and take a look.

I did review other comments. I'm very disappointed, though not surprised, at a few. I don't know this whole story and I don't know Mr. Crist personally. I have talked with him before. His company did the roof on my home a couple of years ago. I found him personally easy to deal with.

I know that Kim Cobb welcomed the opportunity to run against Crist. And, I was pleased to see more folks involved with the BOE. I'm not convinced he could have unseated her. I wish more of the seats had faced opposition.

The people who believe that he's not involved with the schools, don't know everything.

I wish I could say I was surprised at the comments "over there". but it was pretty much par for the course.

I really don't have a dog in this race either. But admittedly, the info we have so far doesn't look good on Crist. However, one local businessman to another, I would welcome him to come on here and tell his side if he wishes. Kim is also welcome to post on The Hwy.

If any of you have contact with either of them, please invite them over.

I personally think we ALL have a dog in this race. Regardless of where we live in Paulding or what stage our life is in. The value of our local schools does translate to the value of our homes, communities and way of life.

Guys, the person who filed the complaint is a member here and the other site. I have known him for many years. He would not have filed the complaint with "OUT" proof-positive evidence.

edit: oops, left out a key word

It certainly looked like he did his homework.

That's fine. I don't think we are questioning his character or motive at all.

I'm not disputing the accuracy of his evidence or his motives - I applaud him for bringing this information to light. But there are at least two sides to every story (more depending on the number of media outlets involved).

Amen Madea! We all get to vote on all candidates for school board. I think the evidence speaks for itself. If all of that is true he needs a lawyer because he could have some trouble coming his way in my opinion. I have no way of knowing one way or the other. :whistle
