Seattle police chief submits resignation

Now that the Seattle city council has reduced the police department's budget, the chief has announced she's retiring effective September 2. 100 officers will lose their jobs because of the budget cuts. Crime will most likely continue to increase in Seattle with the reduction in officers. I wouldn't be surprised if the next city election results in a new mayor and members of the city council. There is only so much that even those who vote for Democrats will take when it comes to safety.

This insanity is gonna backfire on the Democrats!

A lot of older people who normally vote Democrat are not happy with these ideas

I'll also note that in a bad situation, those who have the skill to get a job elsewhere will usually do so, leaving those that were not pulling their weight and would not be able to hire elsewhere behind to hold the fort. Add in the total lack of confidence those officers left will have that the city will back them up and I suspect the situation in those cities is going to go to crap in a hurry.
