Speaking of German Shepherds...

We took Cheyenne for a long walk in the neighborhood last night, right at sunset. After dark and on the other side of the neighborhood, Cheyenne makes a dead stop and started staring at a shadowed, dark area of a house. An occupant of the house was there standing in the dark.
She came out and mentioned that our German Shepherd was a great guard dog. I guess she figured she had better say something because she wasn't going to fool her. I have some training scheduled for her starting next month. She is going to be a great security officer for the family.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE German Shepherds. They are SOOOO incredibly intelligent. How old is she? What color?

She's beautiful, black and tan (standard color, I guess) and she just turned 2 last month. Every morning at 6:30 sharp, I don't know how she knows what time it is, she wakes me up with a nip on my nose and big licks. She is 70 pounds, should be 80 plus, but we are working on that.
She'll start training soon, assuming we can get her off the couch. She is a sweet girl.

I grew up with a German Shepherd and absolutely LOVED him. I still miss him. When my sister and I prepared a photo montage for our parents several years ago, we included pictures of him, and he's been gone 23 years. :(

It didn't take her long to get with the program. I blame Dixie Darlin'. Cheyenne finally whined enough to the Chief to let her sleep in the big bed with the rest of the family last night. We need a larger bed. The girls miss you :love
