SSO at Rakestraw Lift Station 01/25/2024

I'm having an issue believing that the county had someone get there just as the manhold overflowed and got the tank fueled back up and got the system going again all within 21 minutes.

It's almost like I don't trust the govt any more...

On 01/25/2024 Paulding County staff discovered a manhole overflowing at Rakestraw Lift Station at 1:54 p.m. The lift station control power was restored, and the overflow stopped at 2:15 p.m. The overflow was estimated at 165 gallons per minute for a total of 21 minutes for a total of 3,465 gallons. The overflow reached Rakestraw Creek, and was caused by high sewer flows due to excessive rainfall, and the failure of the bypass pump due to a low fuel condition caused by the higher sewer flows. The site was cleaned, lime was applied to the affected area, and signs have been placed at the spill location.
