I can't wait for the book to come out. I'm sending out info every chance I get. The only problem is, I don't have that many friends. I guess most people don't like me ;D

Well I bet that both of my friends read the share.

I shared, I shared. My sister and her hubby live in Volusia County (Ormond Beach), I know they'll enjoy reading this book and the mention of several familiar "landmarks". I'm so excited, I really can't wait. All I really remember about the thread on here is the seat belt killing, I quit reading the thread so I could be surprised by the chapters. WTG GC!! :cheer1 :cheer1 :cheer1

We are just down to just a few corrections. It takes a while to "clean up" everything. Now I know why it takes an average year to publish. In my case, the entire process will be closer to two years. I had a meeting with Sheriff Warren last week who came to me about writing a statement for the book. Bob Barr's office sent an email last week, saying they decided to contribute to the foreword. I hope they give me their copy by the end of next week for me to send to the publisher and we will be one step closer.

I appreciate everyone's support. It really has been a lot of work, but it's worth the trouble. It's really not a bad story if I say so myself. It's more "down to earth" and believable story than many crime novels that I have read, but I hope some can relate to it and enjoy it.

Please, for the love of all that is good in this world, do everything that you can to ensure that there are no errors in the book. I am so unbelievably sick and tired of paying good money for books that the publishers and authors and editors can't be bothered to proof thoroughly enough to catch the 50 or more typos, grammatical errors, and/or outright ommisions in their publications.

We are doing our best. Today I got about half way through my tenth read, at least. The publisher is going into the third edit when I send it back before I do the final. I've never been through this...obviously, but I have found out how difficult it is to make a 100,000 word document flawless. But it's not just the grammar that can be a problem. It's problems with facts...

Did you mention a time of day that doesn't agree with a time later in the book? Did you do something that does not agree with something else you did later. Did a person say one thing in the book that contradicts something said 30,000 words later. A novel is too long to write with half-measures and it's something I have learned the hard way. That's where and agent, a couple of editors and a good publisher come in handy.

It's too easy to become impatient. Had it been the case where I self-published, it frankly would have read like a bunch of CRAP. I am SO thankful that the brakes were put on and it has taken the amount of time and work to make it as close to perfect as possible. Now, you may find an error or two, but that is ALL you will find. It is my hope you won't even find that.

I have some comfort in knowing that all authors have editors and none are perfect.

Good heavens - who wouldn't like Insp. Callahan? They must be dense. ;)

I don't even want that many friends. I'd rather have dogs.

I tell you - the older I get, the truer that statement is. I'll be a hermit by the time I'm old.
