In case you all didn't know, I sang at the funeral for Southern Gospel Music. I fought and fought for it for over 20 years and am now done. IMHO, my problem with most congregations now is that there is no room for both. That's a bunch of bunk if you ask me.
Harmony takes WORK. Choirs don't want to do it any more and singing groups don't either. Why bother when everyone can sing together in unison. Good singing doesn't mean yelling at the top of your lungs or sounding like your tripped out on a Valium low.
Just keep in mind that the music you enjoy and grew up with will be old hat to your grandchildren and will be replaced with some other form of "music". AND, they'll have no room for your "old" stuff. Don't say I didn't warn you.
Whatever floats everyone's boat. I don't have a dog in the fight anymore. I sang my song, fought the good fight and laid a rose on the grave of Southern Gospel Music about 2 years ago. :Ninja
