Well, guess where I spent my weekend? We actually delayed the trip until yesterday because of anticipated bad weather. So, we didn't do as much as we hoped. But we did tour the Lodge Factory and visit the factory store. All in all, a fun time! I recommend it.

Oh, like you wouldn't stab yourself in the head with an awl before you'd ever take a bite of cornbread. :taunt

That is true... :)) But my post is all messed up. (Phone) I did write that I would not eat it. And I said she should have told us last weekend about it.

I wondered about your not saying anything about it. Man, the mobile stuff on this new site sucks.

We even drove by the South Pittsburg Hospital. Legend has it that it's the most haunted place in Tennessee. 8)

If I knew how to load pics from my phone, I would show you a picture of my souvenir #3 skillet. ;D

Having been born and raised in Chattanooga, it's strange I have never been to this. LOL I have always wanted to go, though.

I've never heard of the National Cornbread Festival. It's a good thing though - it's definitely not on the diet right now!

Other than a couple of small cornbread samples, we didn't partake of any of the festival food.

The town is cute! And there's the haunted hospital. 8)

Oh, and it's the only weekend of the year that the Lodge Factory is open to the public.

I had pintos and cornbread for lunch today. That reminded me of you keeping this secret from the rest of us while you skirted off to the Cornbread Festval. :))

I only took a couple of pictures, but I need to post them on Facebook. :-* However, if you go to the National Cornbread Festival's Facebook page, there are some great pictures.

I don't know how the Festival originated (other than a marketing ploy between Lodge and Martha White) but this tiny little town brings in thousands one weekend per year.
