I saw a commercial with a very attractive Native American woman for a "loan company" called Big Sky. Big Sky Cash is a Native American owned business operating within the exterior boundaries of the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation, a sovereign nation located within the United States of America. She said the money, with no credit check, was expensive. I got curious as to how expensive it actually was, so I looked it up. The interest rate was 1,825%.. She wasn't kidding! Who, in their right mind would even consider this? Craziest thing I've ever heard.

I thought that was illegal!

We rented a washer/dryer while we were waiting on the insurance company to settle our lightning claim a few years ago. When they gave me the purchase price, I about had a heart attack! I quickly advised them they could come and pick it up. O.M.G! How do folks afford that?

It is illegal. They are being sued by the FTC and the State if Maryland. Of course, those cases take years to work through the Courts. Since it is an Indian Reservation, they can probably pretty much do what they want. I thought that was interesting.
