TLC\'s New Show - All American Muslim

ShoeDiva

Shoes!!!!
All American Muslim premiered last night on TLC. Did you watch? Comments?

I did watch the premier of this show because I did want to see it after the many comments, both good and bad, I have read regarding the making of this show.

Eh, I think because of the Muslims wanting to show us they are us (and I am not saying they are not) and TLC's editing it came off fairly boring. The storyline of the Irish Catholic man that converted for his wife could have been good, and it may still be, but I definitely think what we saw aired was the make Muslim look good part. (If you saw it his whole demeanor was not that of excitement, almost the opposite.)

I didn't see it and have never heard of it. The discussion at my house was that Fox was becoming the gay network and that AMC is the western network. Thank goodness for AMC or we would have to sell the television.

I don't get that.

Haven't seen it and don't plan to.

I, for one, am tired of the left using the entertainment industry to shape our social beliefs. Their job is simply to entertain; not to tell us what to believe or find socially acceptable.

I heard this show is going out with a BANG! Apparently, they will have another main character for next season.

:B_S :slappy :laugh

I saw where they were supposed to have their first gay love fest (for lack of a more acceptable word) on Glee. I will say I've never seen a single minute of it. Last night on Fox there was an animated show called Allan Gregory (I think). On the show were having a gay dance at an Elementary School.

I have watched a few episodes of Glee, when it first came on, I liked it, there was a gay boy character, but nothing "shocking" for the first season. I lost interest after a few shows (seasons ago) so I did not know about the above. I also had not heard anything about a new cartoon show. Going to google now...LOL

Callahan- next time leave me in my little bubble. :faint I just watched a few clips of the show, that runs at 8:30. Seriously?

Sorry about that Shoe. It is what it is. The Chief axed me, is this what our Country is coming to? All I could say was, it sure looks like it.

I used to LOVE TLC! Haven't watched in a few years. Certainly won't be adding this to my must-see list.

I you do not mind if I ask, why? (To the, "certainly won't be adding this to my must-see list.)
Not that it was riveting television, it was not.

I may watch out of curiosity, but I will prolly forget, lol. I really don't care. I have a really hard time watching reality shows. They are not reality. I actually have a hard time watching just about anything. haha

Until they start a series titled, "Southern Baptists Are People Too", they can count me out of their political correctness TV. If I want preachin' at, I'll go to church...

LOL..you know that might be next. :)) I honestly do not see it as preaching and I do think many people forget that many Muslims have lived here for a long time. It is the, "what is it like now after 9/11?" question that I do find interesting, though the show wasn't.

Because I don't need another fake TV show, posing as reality, telling me how I should feel. (When I read that it sure sounds hateful, but it really wasn't written that way.) And while I do sympathize with a certain segment of the Muslim population, my personal experiences (primarily at work) have been less than stellar. (I'm currently going through a rather bad personal experience with a Muslim man at work.) So, maybe my view is a bit jaded simply based on that. But, I'm certainly not ready to feel indoctrinated. I watch minimal TV as it is.

I do not watch much tv myself that is why half the time I am clueless. LOL

I hate that you are going through anything bad at work. :( Very sad that it happens. Of course our personal experiences jade us! I did not take it as hateful, but what you have encountered.
