Warning: Car jacking last night at 120/Bus. 6

A good friend of mine posted this on her facebook wall this morning.

I'm so upset. Last night I walked into CVS behind a girl who was sobbing, I had watched her walk across the street in the bitter cold in high-heels and a light weight business suit and knew something was wrong....
Someone had pulled her out of her car, hit her repeatedly and hijacked her car. I wonder how many people actually SAW this happening (busy intersection of 120 & business 6) and did NOTHING. THis world...I'm tellin' ya...

I completely believe my friend who posted this, though of course I can not vouch for the woman who was reporting this to the CVS clerk.

Did anyone else hear anything about this? Anyone listen to the scanner? I messaged her to ask her what time it happened but have not heard back yet. Will update more when I do.

That corner has always worried me at night.

***Update, she just told me it was about 9PM.

Another reason to lock your doors and be prepared to defend yourself. I have heard nothing about it.

There are nuts in all shapes, sizes and color. It's getting where there are few places some can feel safe anymore.

I don't work for Paulding, but I may hear something tonight. If so, I'll pass it on.

All people can do is try to be aware of your surroundings, keep the doors locked and always be suspicious of other people.

I worry about my daughter on a constant basis. My niece was attacked walking out of a Sports Authority in Indiana about two years ago. She is in her mid 30's and is a tall, strong lady. She fought the man off who was obviously attempting to abduct her. It just goes to demonstrate the age and size don't always matter. It can happen to anyone.

You CAN NOT be too careful

Sad to hear this happening anywhere but especially in Paulding. Like other have said, please keep your doors locked and be aware of your surroundings.

Ever since my house was robbed on Halloween of 2008, I keep my gun with me. I have a license to carry now and keep it in my purse or car at all times. This right here just validates that again for me. It makes me sick to think we have to live in fear, but at least I know that I am doing what I can to protect myself and my family.

I also have a license to carry and its with me at all times. When I drive at night it lays in the seat next to my leg.

But you said purse. As my Dad always yells at me when mine isnt on my side. What are you going to do with the steal your purse dump it to find money and find your gun?! I carry mine on my more than ever now. FYI Toys R Us in Douglasville doesnt allow firarms. I refuse to shop there.

That's a good point. I do keep it in my purse because I don't have anywhere else to put it. I feel good knoing that there is only a couple other things that will fit in my purse with it, so it won't be hard to find if I need it. If they steal my purse though, it would not be a good thing because they would have my gun too.

I have locks that automatically lock when I put the car in drive. Sometimes it's a pain when I'm picking someone up and it's pouring rain but I will not turn it off. :)

I'm really afraid of guns. My husband has a carry permit and his is with him at all times. Maybe if I knew how to shoot them, I'd feel better but until then, I just try to be aware of my surroundings, all the time.

I was afraid of guns too...until our house was robbed and the police said that they thought we had interupted the robbers when we got home. Then I felt a little more safe having a gun. I still didn't feel 100% comfortable carrying one with me, so my husband took me to shoot it. Now that I know how it feels to shoot the gun, I am more comfortable knowingthat I could use it if I had to.

Me, too. I do not like them, I do not like to shoot them. I fully support everyone's right carry, just not mine. LOL

I hope someone can verify this. I will contact the Sheriff to see if it is true. I carry sometimes but now it seems, I will need to all the time and I go to CVS there at 120/6 often. Anyone yanks me out of my car will have a hole in them. I am sick of these thugs.

I can't say I've had any problems with thugs in quite some time.

I have been meaning to get my firearm license... but I am afraid if I ever did have to use my gun on someone that tried to rob or pull me out of my car, that I would get into trouble for shooting them....?
