The entire VA system is screwed up and needs to be revamped. The current Secretary of Veteran Affairs is a moron. He was a moron while he was a General in the Army.
Agreed.

Sadly it is much easier to deal with the VA when you live overseas. Now we just submit receipts and the VA pays.
We have a friend who is still waiting after three years for his initial evaluation for disability.
Not that it will be helpful, but when he finally gets his disability he will get a lump payment from the time the claim was filed. However if he isn't using a Vet rep, he may need to. I don't know if it will help move things along, but at least there will be someone who can make sure all the paperwork is filed and all the "t"s are crossed.
Y'all my issue is that while yes, these guys are vets, and yes the VA should be taking care of them, they still have options. Why would anyone wait till their loved one is at deaths door before getting them any help? The Vets they are profiling should have medicare, could they not at least get care, at least enough to stabilize them, then worry about the VA care?
Husband was told to go to the hospital last year, by his VA doctor. He went to Paulding, who then had him transported to Austell. They kept him overnight. Well the bills started coming in and I sent the bills back and told them to bill the VA, because the issue was service related. Medicare had paid their part, so all that was left was the co-pay. Yes, the VA tried to give me the whole "we have to approve" run around. I told the person "it was approved by his Doctor, who said get to the hospital." The bills were paid.
I do have a question that some of you might know the answer to, Isn't Kiser basically the same type of system? If you have them, you can only use their doctors, and hospitals?
