no, this isn't my ring Foxmeister gave me....... :waggingfinger, I'm proudly wear it now.

BUT this one is a 1 carat solitaire, princess cut. I have the appraisal value. It's a beautiful diamond. I know Christmas is coming up and for any who know someone looking I will take half the value of it.

I will try to post a pic after this. It's in the original box like new, appraisal with it for $ 9,505.00 on it. It's colerless (F) Calrity SI1 and the appraisal card you need with this info for insurance purposes. I used to have this on insurance.
This is from a previous marriage. The diamond like above will tell you excellent clarity and cut.

I am selling for 4,500.00 or best offer.

I tried to attach pics but it will not load. Too large. Fox is working on it. :dunno

when was the appraisal done?

at the time I purchased it for insurance purposes, 2001
you will need to get an updated appraisal before selling it. The value has went down unfortunately. I have a 4c and my I was shocked when I got mine reappraised, Insurance makes me get and update every 2 or 3 years

I'm not having it reappraised because I already know it will sell if not here, I have another interested party who appreciates jewelry and value. My asking price is fair and is negotiable. The buyer will have to have it reappraised again if they want to.
Everyone knows jewelry is over priced. That's why I lowered the price significantly to take that into account.
This ring is no long on an insurance policy as of 13 months, 3 weeks, 7 days and 12 hours ago.
Appraisers will tell you to have it reappraised quite frequently to make money on people who really don't know, unfortunately.

Thank you for your interest.

I sold my wedding ring, after the divorce from Mr. Lisa #1. I was shocked by how much difference there was in my original appraisal and what I got for it. I'd really wanted more for it, since I was giving the proceeds to a single mom at my church. But, that's when I found out how overpriced jewelry really was. :faint

They build sentimentality into the price.

Mr. Lisa

that made me chuckle

My jewelry person doesn't charge me for my insurance appraisals... That makes me happy. Lord knows I spend enough money with him!

I love diamonds... I just wished they didn't cost so stinking much.

That's true. And then you have to build reality into the resell price. :laugh

That she did. The last appraisal was just over $9,500 and she has it listed for $4,500.

As much as I love shoes and purses you would think I would love jewelry more. When we do, and by we I mean husband, buy we use Migliore's in Buckhead. They love my husband and give him great deals. We are not charged for appraisals either and also are required by the insurance company to have them reappraised every so often. (I am not sure of the time frame)

We have to have reappraisals done every two years for our insurance company (Cotton States). Brown & Co. did our last one and I don't believe they charged us. But, like you said, we're customers so they make money off of us other ways...

Now gun and tool appraisals are another story - we turned those in and they haven't asked for an update except she. We add or delete some from the policy.

Diamonds cost more in the mountains? :dunno

no, you just get what you pay for. it matters in clarity and cut. As for sentimental value, it has none for me and that is why it's being sold. I had an informal appraisal at a jeweler for this price and he said it would go easily for that.
Living in the mountains has nill to do with it. It's a quality diamond and I realize not everyone wants that or understands that but it is what it is.

yes, jewelry is overpriced. That I know for sure and have for years. I have quite a bit of jewelry.
This is why the price is less than half of the value and in fact it's negotiable so it could be lower. I have two places that will buy it, I was offering it here first as it's Christmas and didn't know if any were interested in getting a brilliant cut, good clarity piece for a fraction of what you would pay at a jewelry store.

Thanks.
