Since honeybunny is busy crying in the corner over kidlet's starting kindergarten, I'm posting this. It's getting to where I nearly cannot even read a synopsis of the story anymore with these videeos. Latest video shows official discussing not only intact organs, but intact cadavers. Intact babies being sold means hte baby was born alive and left to die. I have to go throw up now.

Thanks for sharing....NOT :sick :Stick :Stick :Stick :girlsaysno

I had not heard this and now I need to slap you! Seriously, is that the response...baby was born and left to die? I can not watch the videos, still, and I am pretty sure I am not going to be able to read your link. :\'(

Have any of these videos uncovered anything illegal? I know the state of Indiana went after them a while back and didn't find any wrongdoing. I don't like abortion, but it's legal.

Thank goodness that Planned Parenthood isn't selling dead puppy parts, they would be shut down in a heartbeat.
I guess as long as none of those baby's are named Cecil, they are OK.

OK, I know that it was sad about Cecil, but this is funny.

The gas chambers wasn't illegal back in the day either.

As I said, I don't support abortion. But, I'm waiting for the videos to reveal something we didn't all know already. Didn't we all know babies are killed during abortion? Didn't we all know that their parts were used?

What I worry about is that these videos go after the wrong target and will ultimately discredit the anti-abortion argument. The selective editing in the early releases was horrible and a perfect picture of propaganda. To their credit, they are finally releasing the raw footage. The problem with the raw footage is that it reveals legal activity, not illegal activity.

Whether one agrees with abortion or not, I really question why anyone is suddenly outraged by these videos. So far, there are no surprises. Who didn't know that abortion means killing babies? Who didn't know that the parts of aborted babies were used? As I said, Indiana already investigated Planned Parenthood. Nothing in these videos is new.

And that's what really frustrates me about this release. All these people are getting outraged by these videos, but some of them are outraged by what they're told is in them (even if it isn't) and they're acting like these are shocking new revelations. They're not.

This group is trying to score cheap points just like they did against ACORN (which was later vindicated of any wrongdoing).

I don't necessarily like the videos, personally I can't watch any of them, but I'm glad they're at least forcing a discussion on PP and their taxpayer funding. You do have a point though, they could ultimately do more harm than good, depending on public reaction. The GOP did yesterday what I expected them to do, absolutely nothing. Someone please remind me why I normally vote Republican again.

A lot of this I said on day one of the release. I am not for abortion for me, yet I do not want it to be illegal again. I absolutely do not want to hear about what happens. I know that the result is that there is no longer a baby, I do not need or want details. (reason I do not watch the videos) I do think that this group is not helping at all. We know what goes on, PP has been investigated more than once, including the time on 20/20 (not sure if that was Indiana or not) and they have not been found to be doing illegal things.
Though as I mentioned above I have not heard of an abortion where the baby was born and left to die, what the heck is that? That can't be right or legal and I do not want graphic details, so I am chicken to check out the link.

Altering an abortion procedure to ensure intact specimens is in fact illegal...

:whistle

If I am only being reimbursed strictly for cost, where is the motivation to provide more and better specimens ? ? ?

Have they altered a procedure? Are different types of abortions available and if the woman consents to tissue donation do they use one of the other procedures?

By the way... despite rhetoric to the contrary, PP does not perform mammograms :

:girlsaysno
:dunno I never thought they did. They can help women get access by directing them to facilities that have the machines, but I have never heard of them actually doing a mammogram. Also, a woman that uses PP might not think of having a mammogram and they advise of the reasons to have it done and provide them with the information. PP, to me, is more of an information center for womens health for women that might not have the knowledge of all the tests and procedures that should be had to insure a healthy life.

I think it's clear from these discussions that if they can figure out a way, they'll do most anything. It's all about the money, as well as the sex without consequences. For me, besides the murder of innocent babies, it's about taxpayer dollars going to support this vile organization.

Have you read any of the transcripts ? ? ?

They have openly admitted on these videos to using alternative
procedures or "less crunchy" methods to obtain better specimens.

This is a violation of federal law.

I believe I have said I am not watching or reading them because they are too graphic.
Now, as for a different method, I am still not sure if it is illegal. Using one method over another to preserve tissue with the woman's permission is not illegal, or is it? Why is it a violation of Federal Law?
It does say that tissue obtained following an abortion, but what about the woman that agree to it prior to the procedure? Are you saying that there is only one method and they should use that method which would result in not as much usable tissue?

(A) in the case of tissue obtained pursuant to an induced abortion--
(i) the consent of the woman for the abortion was obtained prior to requesting or obtaining consent for a donation of the tissue for use in such research;
(ii) no alteration of the timing, method, or procedures used to terminate the pregnancy was made solely for the purposes of obtaining the tissue; and
(iii) the abortion was performed in accordance with applicable State law;

I am also still perplexed on the first statement of the baby being born and dying by ML. :dunno

I believe the part that's illegal is that they are selling baby body parts across state lines. I've heard that mentioned. But since I also do not watch the videos, take that for what it's worth.

I take serious issue with taxpayer funded abortion.

Do I see them as a "healthcare facility". Hell no. There are 700 Planned Parenthood centers nationwide. There are 250 centers (just in Georgia) to obtain a mammogram. I think it'd be much easier to locate a mammogram center.

Planned Parenthood is the reason I pulled my support for Susan G. Komen.

Thanks. That does make sense. (from one non watching video person to another :)) )
As for PP being a healthcare center I did not mean that it provides healthcare, but it did provide information for many that do not know to take care of themselves. It is some of what is covered on the follow up of the abortion.
(When I volunteered at the rape crisis center abortion was on the list of options available and my, rather limited, knowledge of PP comes from that time. A lot of women that I came in contact with did not have health care, and honestly did not know how to go about getting birth control, yearly exams, etc.) A local clinic could provide the same information if sought, but I believe it is that they have the women there and can urge them to get yearly checkups. :dunno

As for the funding, I am not for paying for someone to have that done :girlsaysno but I really do not know how they are receiving taxpayer funding, as in is the money received allowing for abortions (which I thought was illegal, except in the case of rape) or clinics and access to birth control, and testing for std's? I just do not know enough about the funding to take a hard line stance.

See my money iis fungable thread for an explanation of how taxpayer funding facilitates abortions at PP.
