Bad Neighbor Stories

Most of us have had them, so let's post them. I had a doozy!

Before moving to Paulding w lived in a very middle class subdivision in Austell. This dude moved in next door to me, I knew he was weird from day one. He nailed all the doors and windows shut where his family could only enter/exit through the garage door. Then he built a 6' wood fence around the entire house, and put two rottweilers in it. He abused the dogs to make them mean, and was successful. These dogs barked 24/7, I didn't get a good night's sleep for months. Our daughter couldn't play in the back yard because the dogs were so powerful they would literally run through the fence and knock the boards off. The mail lady wouldn't even get out of the truck when she had a package for us. The dogs almost hurt some of the neighborhood children. Some very close calls!

We called animal control for months and they kept saying they couldn't do anything unless THEY caught the animals out of the fence. Finally, some of the neighbors and I decided we'd had enough and we called animal control to tell them we were taking matters into our own hands and killing the dogs. Sure 'nuff, one of their trucks showed up a few minutes later, and we blocked the road so he couldn't leave. We told him we demanded a resolution that day, one way or another. Well, the animal control agent finally agreed to pull into the guy's driveway and wait awhile to see if the dogs would get out of the fence. Bingo! He pulled into the driveway and got out of the truck, and the dogs ran through the fence and tried to attack him.

Admittedly, there was some gratification on our part as we watched the animal control dude on top of his truck screaming for us to call 911. But I did call in and told them one of their guys was in danger.

Withing minutes, we had animal control, police, and two fire engines (dunno what that was about) out there and to say that they were pissed is an understatement. The dogs left that day, never to return, and the guy got a huge fine.

About a month later the guy went missing, and they found him in a closet at his workplace dead from a heart attack. Steroid use; he was a bodybuilder and he was juicing. Trying to be good neighbors, we went to his wife and offered to help in any way we could. It was then that we found out that the guy beat her daily and sexually assaulted his own young daughter.

It seems the old saying is true; what comes around goes around.

Jesus, I thought I was bad for peeing off the porch and owning chickens. You gotta start off with a slightly less horrible story than that next time. Nobody should be able to top that, I hope.

Now you know why we saved our money and moved to the woods.

That and because I can pee off my porch too. ;D

Oh my goodness, that is terrible, GD.

We've had several. When we lived in Marietta a guy moved in across the road and was nice, but kinda strange. Like.... IDK. Like he was hot stuff and knew it. He used to bring his comforter out and lay it on the front lawn and lay out in the sun. In his Speedos. No lie.

Then here we had a lady next door. We liked her, but she always had issues. All the time. She was older than us, but she was an attractive lady. Still tiny, blonde, and loved her wine. Even though her son lived there she always needed MrB's help. It irked me, but what do ya do? I had it the day she decided to clean her gutters, and needed MrB to hold the ladder while she stood up there with the hose, in her shorty shorts and white t-shirt. :Stick Also, the day we moved in, she came out and laid in the sun in her bikini. We had all of MrB's frat brothers here helping. :Stick

Oh, and also in the Marietta house the guy across the street was an alcoholic. He ran out of booze one day. We know this because he ran his car into the ditch in our yard. MrB and our other roommate got him out, then made him stay home while they went to the liquor store.

Ummm, just out of pure curiosity, does she still live there?

No. She bought a house out of state then stopped making her payments here. :tapfoot2 Now I have no one on that side but a vacant, overgrown, foreclosed house.

Actually, MrB is still taking care of it, since during the summer he goes over to cut the grass so we don't get rodents here. :BH

I had a bad neighbor in Austell as well. She was just a wicked woman. Her dogs would be in the back yard barking at my dog who would just sit at the fence and stare at them. One day she came out of her house with a broom and swung it over the fence to hit my dog who was just sitting there watching her dogs going nuts. I happened to be outside at the time to see it. I ran up there and asked her what in the heck was she thinking. She came back with, "Your dog is making my dogs bark." I asked her if she saw my dog holding a gun to the heads of hers and she came back with no. I then told her, "My dog isn't making yours do anything then, right?" She held the broom up like she was going to swing it at me. I told her to think again because she wouldn't be able to ride the broom anymore. She took her dogs in the house. This woman was really crazy. She moved one of her dog houses to the front yard. One night she set it on fire, called 911 and then tried to blame someone across the street. She didn't know there was a witness taking a late night walk who watched her.

In Chicago we lived next door to an older couple in a little brick bungalow. Cute house and had some of those plastic flowers in the front bay windows, the blinds were always closed. She had been a nun, not sure what he did. Anyway they were hoarders. I never went in the house but from the back of ours you could see stuff piled up on the back porch and covering all the other windows. She used to cut his hair in the back yard, while he was in his underwear, probably because there wasn't a chair to sit on inside. LOL One day I looked out the back window and their garage was on fire!! Apparently they had accumulated a lot of lead based paint and paint thinner and it somehow ignited in there.......when they got the fire out it was so full of junk it took two truck to haul it off. They never rebuilt the garage when we lived there, thank goodness.

Oh and if the kids stepped on their grass, she was out the door shaking her finger at them. When it would snow, she'd shovel in the middle of the night and pile her snow on the neighbors yards. I don't think they even owned a car, of course we lived in the city so public transportation was readily available.

The family of drug dealers across the street moved out last weekend (eviction thank goodness),
but they left behind a bunch of junk, a mountain of garbage, and destroyed the home and yard.

Mine isn't as bad as some of these other stories....

While living on base we had a neighbor whose voice sounded just like Minnie Mouse. She was a less than friendly person and couldn't park worth a crap...she would always take up two parking spots. She would also have several men in and out of her home while her husband was gone for a 6 month deployment. She also hated kids. If our son's toys even touched the grass or the walkway in front of her apartment, she would come outside and literally toss them on our side of the walkway. One time she parked so close to one of our neighbor's cars that our neighbor couldn't get in her car. So she went to her door and asked her to move it. We were all hanging out at that neighbor's yard because we were all stay at home moms with kids the same age and the kids were playing. She walked past us, moved her car and then came back and started yelling at us. She called us white trash and fat slobs who don't ever do anything, but sit outside and talk. She even threw in a few choice curse words.
There was another incident with her and BBG, but I would be happy to let him tell that story.

Please have him tell. It sounds like it will be a good one.

I don't have any bad neighbor stories - we've lived in our neighborhood for almost 20 years and have most of the same neighbors. We even have dinner with some of them every Sunday night.

Hmmmm, I don't have any bad neighbor stories... I wonder if that makes ME the bad neighbor??

When I lived in Austell I lived in a town home. The condo right next to mine was a rental so there was people in and out of it all the time. In the next section of town homes over they was 4 units and all but one of them was rental units. A group of guys moved in the one on the end closest to my house and all the regular neighbors and I started noticing alot of traffic in and out of there. We kept watch on them as much as possible. We reported them several times to the cops for loud music, parties etc and told them about the late night traffic in and out of there. About 2 weeks after we reported them, 6 of us woke up to our dogs dead. They had fed all of them anti freeze. When we all found out who had done it, we found out it was to keep the dogs from barking at all the people in and out of there buying their drugs. Crazy people! I was so so glad to move out of that neighborhood when we did.

Another story I thought of...

After moving here when BBG got out of the military, we lived in an appartment in Marietta on Powder Springs Rd. One day BBG was at work, our son was napping and I was busy feeding our daughter, who was about 6 months old. I hear a very loud knock on the door. It got our dog to barking, so I went to lock her in the bedroom before answering the door. When I finally got to the door, I saw that they were not knocking on our door, but had just left our neighbor's door. The guy looked scary, so I locked the door and did what any other nosey neighbor would do...I ran into the other room and watched out the window. I got to the window just in time to see the man pull out a gun and hit a car window, I'm guessing my neighbor's car window, with the grip of a pistol. It scared the crap out of me, and of course I called the police to report it.

The worst is apartment living.

Let’s see how I can sum it up.

This was in VA Beach

The neighbors above me had 4 kids the mother and the grandmother and her COP boyfriend living above us.

Only 4 people max were supposed to be in this apartment.

All day long I hear stomping etc. I was stuck at home with my oldest who was barely a year old and only one car. DH was never home because he worked all day and then went to school.

Our apartment was flooded at least 5 times by these people. I was getting flooded because believe it or not it was coming up thru my kitchen sink.

The best part was listening to them have sex. UHHHHHHHHH NOT!

I would turn my stereo up to drown out the noise and then they would try to send other cops over to scare me. NOT!!!!

I called and complained and the apartment management did nothing. Only thing that worked was going thru the Navy Housing Dept. After that they were forced to move out.

I also called the health dept, because the flooding was a safety hazard for my child that was crawling around the nasty floor.

2nd Story not that bad

Was in Marietta/another apartment/brand new to the area.

I asked for the 1st floor not realizing that in GA they have basement apartments.

I had a 3 year old boy and a boy that was barely a year old.

No playgrounds at all and my husband was out in CA going to school for the Navy.

My neighbor would bang on the ceiling.

He finally came and knocked on my door and said I needed to keep the noise down. I showed him my 2 little boys and said how am I supposed to do that? I told him my house was being built and that I would be gone in a few weeks. He looked embarrassed and apologized to me. Never heard a peep out of him after that. LOL

Dang GD. You win the bad neighbor award.

When we purchased our first home in Paulding County, the house across the street was rented by two strippers. They would cut their grass in either spandex or a bikini (depending on the weather, of course). They would sunbathe nude on their back deck. Or course they hung some blankets over the railing so they weren't in full view.

My husband always had guys offering to cut our grass every weekend. Weird.
