DeSantis 2024.....now 2028?

Y'all just don't be surprised if Trump gets the nomination.

Even if Trump only pulls 35-40% of each primary and the other candidates combine to pull the other 60, Trump wins. Which primary, Democrat or Republican, will a large percentage of Democrats vote in? If you said Republican, you're correct. What GOP candidate will they vote for? Trump.

I like Pompeo. Not sure how much chance he has, but I think he would make a fine president.

Pompeo takes swipe at Trump over adding nearly $8 trillion to US debt

I won't be surprised, but I'll be disappointed. But I don't think he'll win.

Also, CPAC has evolved into essentially TrumpPAC over the last few years so not surprising that he won the straw poll there.

Yet this same WH who says this crap is creating policies that have led to increasing inflation and Interest rates, and made gas prices higher, which all make it more difficult for those the Dems claim they are ''fighting'' for to pay their bills and feed their families.

This is an example of how DeSantis and his team work. Very effective.

Wow...very well spoken. Sadly a victim of child sex abuse. (Years ago I had a theory that the gay person was a child of trauma/sexual abuse... something about a community that accepted and protected them and did not expect anything of them. The people I knew who were gay had similar histories.)

This person is addressing the school board in the town where my mom lives, the school my cousins graduated from decades ago... a town that is still conservative, the mayor is a Republican, (however he is being corrupted by being there too long at this point.)

When my kids were young, my generation all wanted to live in Poway because the schools were top in the State... and that was when a California education was actually respected, before the woke, grooming, liberal pollution started...

DeSantis' position on Ukraine.

“While the U.S. has many vital national interests – securing our borders, addressing the crisis of readiness within our military, achieving energy security and independence, and checking the economic, cultural, and military power of the Chinese Communist Party – becoming further entangled in a territorial dispute between Ukraine and Russia is not one of them. The Biden administration’s virtual “blank check” funding of this conflict for “as long as it takes,” without any defined objectives or accountability, distracts from our country’s most pressing challenges.

Without question, peace should be the objective. The U.S. should not provide assistance that could require the deployment of American troops or enable Ukraine to engage in offensive operations beyond its borders. F-16s and long-range missiles should therefore be off the table. These moves would risk explicitly drawing the United States into the conflict and drawing us closer to a hot war between the world’s two largest nuclear powers. That risk is unacceptable.

A policy of “regime change” in Russia (no doubt popular among the DC foreign policy interventionists) would greatly increase the stakes of the conflict, making the use of nuclear weapons more likely. Such a policy would neither stop the death and destruction of the war, nor produce a pro-American, Madisonian constitutionalist in the Kremlin. History indicates that Putin’s successor, in this hypothetical, would likely be even more ruthless. The costs to achieve such a dubious outcome could become astronomical.

The Biden administration’s policies have driven Russia into a de facto alliance with China. Because China has not and will not abide by the embargo, Russia has increased its foreign revenues while China benefits from cheaper fuel. Coupled with his intentional depletion of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve and support for the Left’s Green New Deal, Biden has further empowered Russia’s energy-dominated economy and Putin’s war machine at Americans’ expense.

Our citizens are also entitled to know how the billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars are being utilized in Ukraine.

We cannot prioritize intervention in an escalating foreign war over the defense of our own homeland, especially as tens of thousands of Americans are dying every year from narcotics smuggled across our open border and our weapons arsenals critical for our own security are rapidly being depleted."

What these ass clowns forget is, not just Bill Clinton ran for president while serving as a governor; George W. Bush did as well. DeSantis isn't doing anything they didn't do.

Trump's response to COVID and letting Fauci and Birx pretty much control everything will likely hurt him against DeSantis.

This is a topic I'm thought about quite a bit. We now know that we were being lied to and mislead to large degree, but I wonder what Trump knew at the time and what was going through his head. It had to be killing him that this damn virus was shutting down the magnificent economy that he helped to build, but I suspect he thought he had to go along with the medical people at the time.

I can't help but think that Trump being Trump, if he had to do over again knowing what he knows now, he would have told Fauci and Birx to go screw themselves. But, can you imagine the onslaught that would have come from the Dems and the media had he done that.

Regardless of how COVID originated or whether it was intentional or not; the left used it brilliantly to destroy Trump and seize power. COVID was the greatest gift the Democrats ever got.

No question Trump was in a tough spot. As the leader of the free world, he was looked upon to lead us out of the pandemic. Unfortunately, he wasn't up to the task so he turned pretty much everything over to people that he thought he could trust. Some other leaders, mostly governors like DeSantis and Kemp caught on pretty quickly and decided to go a different path. They ultimately were proven correct.
