ESTIMATED JACKPOT $640 MILLION (**amount edited ... AGAIN**)

I had to stop at Kroger and get gas this morning so I bought 3 tickets. I'll consider it a big win if I at least win my $3 back....
 
I may have to stop and buy one on the way home..I never buy them...but I'll take a couple dollars and contribute to someone's wealthy win tonight :laugh

Somebody did that a few months back with a Powerball win. They formed a trust supervised by a private corporation whose officers were the attorneys. The only contact point with either the lottery folks or the public is the lawyer.
 
A lady at the gas station told me that "a baseball player" had purchased $10,000 in tickets.
 
Absolute madness ... lines everywhere. And you just know there are people spending money they don't have to spend on this fantasy. :(

I'll be shocked if the jackpot amount isn't raised again.

Thankfully the madness will be over tonight.

The madness will only be over if someone wins. I went to the website and here are the numbers: 2, 4, 23, 38, 46 and the power ball number 23. The site said it would be a little while yet before it would be known if there was a winning ticket.
 
It's weird ... supposedly there was word earlier that all possible combinations had been sold yet apparently early estimates from lottery officials have already been released for what the jackpot would be in the even that nobody does win tonight. Good grief. Meanwhile $1.5B has been spent by the American public on this fantasy since the last jackpot was won. Mull that one over for a while and then imagine what would happen to that number if it does actual roll.

If it rolls over again, it looks like a bonanza for all the states that participate in the Mega Millions.
 
Mrs. LTD bought a few just for fun. I do feel sorry for those who can't afford milk, but they are buying $100 bucks worth of lottery tickets. Everybody is lining up to pay a tax. A fool and his money......

BTW, USA Today is reporting that a winning ticket was bought in Maryland.

I didn't buy any tickets, so I didn't win. :D

I heard that last night and it made me think of the lines we saw in GA and the amount they were spending. :'( I worry about those children.
 
There were 3 winning tickets and the really sad/sick thing is that you can be sure at least one of those winners at some point is upset that they have to split the money three ways.
