After today, and yet another email that he can't keep quiet, and another scheduled conference, and an email that he didn't turn in a paper that I know for a fact he did, his wrestling career is over before it begins, and he's currently without a phone. :rant

Full moon? Just saying, after a conference most kids straighten up for at least a week before going back to what your problem with their behavior/academics was.

You parents with boys...just threaten them that they'd better straighten up or you'll make them sit in JR's office whilst he's eating peanuts.

Mine would think that to be fun, and would do whatever they could to get into trouble so they could help JR fog up his office!

Well, we are talking about Marc's sons here. :))

As a teacher of teenagers, I can reassure all of you parents about something: your kids are better in school than at home. I live in a small enough town that I see my students both in and out of school. Some of my most horrible students are far worse at home. I haven't seen any that are better at home than at school.

My own view is that it is better to raise them to indulge this side in private rather than in public.

True! Never in my life did I think riding in a car with kids could be a health hazard. :D

I feel ya! After the conferences with all 3 of our son's teachers, I told them to e-mail me if he acts up in class. Not a day has gone by since then that I haven't gotten an e-mail. The kids just can't seem to behave. 2 out of the 3 teachers have said that he continuously acts like a kindergartener. Our daughter on the other hand never ever gets in trouble in school.

I got 10 good days. According to Young Son, his talking in class was not "social", they were discussing class work. Although I suspect the instruction was "no talking". We'll see. He claims he wasn't the only one talking (not that changes his infraction).
