lotstodo

aka "The Jackal"
I thought I would post the ballot questions from tomorrow's ballot so you can do your due diligence.

Democratic Ballot:

Should the Georgia Constitution be amended to allow the state to override locally elected school boards' decisions when it comes to the creation of charter schools in your county or city?

· Do you support ending current practice permitting unlimited gifts from lobbyists to state legislators?

· Should Georgia adopt an income tax credit for home energy costs to support the economic security of our families?

· Should Georgia reduce sales taxes on made in Georgia products so as to support the growth of small businesses in our state?

Republican Ballot:

Should Georgia have casino gambling with funds going to education?

· Do you support ending the current practice of unlimited gifts from lobbyists to state legislators by imposing a $100 cap on such gifts?

· Should active duty military personnel who are under the age of 21 be allowed to obtain a Georgia weapons license?

· Should citizens who wish to vote in a primary election be required to register by their political party affiliation at least thirty (30) days prior to such primary election?

· Should the Constitution of Georgia be amended so as to provide that the paramount right to life is vested in each innocent human being from his or her earliest biological beginning without regard to age, race, sex, health, function, or condition of dependency

And for all voters the T-Splost Question:

Tsplost Provides for local transportation projects to create jobs, improve roads and Safety with citizen oversight.

Shall the Metro Atlanta [or other] region and the transportation network in this region and the state be improved by providing for a 1 percent special district transportation sales and use tax for the purpose of transportation projects and programs for a period of ten years?

JJ your votes are your decision and I respect that, but I had not heard many people say that they would not want a 20 year old to be able to hold a weapons license who is defending our country. (and probably knows more about guns than most) If you do not mind explaining your reasoning I would love to hear it. (I really have not read or heard of that side.)

I look at a 18 to 20 year old as a 18 to 20 year old. When ALL of the 18 to 20 year olds get a weapon license then I will agree for the 18 to 20 military folks getting a weapon license. In my opinion that should never happen.

Gotcha. I have an 18 year old, and obviously know his friends that are in that age group. Most, in general, should not have a weapons license. A few of his friends that are in and have been in the service are totally different than the ones that haven't and I do see a maturity there (either by what they have been taught or have seen) not shown in the civilian youngsters. I have no issue with someone that is willing to fight for my freedoms to have a beer or a license to carry. Thank you, I do appreciate your response!

I have a 16 year old and I know his friends...I also have a 25 year old. I can not see either one being mature enough or in control of their emotions enough to have a weapon. I have a 23 year old nephew in the Air Force that I would not trust with a weapon.
I got my first gun at 21. I have not owned a gun since I turned 23. If I need one I do have access to several.

If I may ask ... why?

Here's another one that I'm curious about ...why? Why would this be something that you wouldn't answer?

I'm just not willing to further restrict someone's voting choices because of the rare occurrence of crossover voting.
