Here comes Ian... could be a nasty storm Weather may be a Category 3 or 4 hurricane

I saw a projection that came out less than an hour ago saying it would reach category four in the Gulf, but be a two at landfall.
 
I'm not a fan of these gulf hurricanes given that it doesn't take much to impact SW Georgia if one hits the Florida panhandle. The cone was a little further west a couple days ago so it has moved back to the east a bit. My boss lives in Indian Shores, FL which isn't looking good at the moment.

I just looked Indian Shores up and found it's only 3' above sea level. I don't think I would want to live there if a hurricane hit. I have a friend in Tampa who is a little nervous right now.
 
As I recall the east side is where the water piles up on landfall, Tampa is not looking good.

Looks like the Pecan farmers may be about to take another big hit. Trees are loaded right now and top heavy. Our hunting club near Vidalia looks to get a soaking and wind. We'll have to try to make a trip down before hunting season opens, the tree farm is about 19 years old, so we have a bunch of big pines in there to fall and block everything.
 
I'm sure the Libs in Washington are hoping this a major disaster:

1) Will take the spotlight off their man made disasters
2) They will be able to do what they do best and promise lots of money giveaways to try to buy FLA votes.

You bet they want this to turn out bad, so they can criticize DeSantis regardless of how well he performs during this hurricane.
 
I heard water could come to shore around the Tampa area that will be 10-15 feet high. That can do some serious damage to homes in those areas just above sea level. I'm glad I don't live down there.

It occurs to me that they are double glad it's heading that way rather than towards the oil production/refinery area in TX and LA which would shoot the price of fuel up again, no matter how much of our stockpile Biden is giving away.
